Ah, that's probably the issue. The 80GB PS2 emulator is pretty solid, but there is always those very few that don't work. Maybe within a few firmware updates, compatibility will increase further. Luckily I got one of the last 60GB's here for Christmas. Full hardware emulation.

isnt the code breaker one of those things that lets you cheat on games by unlocking a bunch of stuff?

If its not a game alone, there is a lost chance it will recieve emulation.

I never used a code breaker on the PS2, or well any disc based system before. WELL I did the Sega Saturn, but that had a cart port, and the programs/code would be on the cart.

But wasn't all the codes on a memory card or something? How did it work?

From what I understand...I think so. I'm not sure what exactly they do, but when you select your codes and start the game, it saves something to the memory card that the game will recognize on boot. Or perhaps saves some executable on the memory card to run in the background while running the game in case of RAM issues...not sure. I can't remember where I read it, I'll have to go find it again.

If you're familiar with homebrew, maybe it's a lot like the independent exploit, where the executable lists the games to execute on when they are booted. Except it's an official type thing, so it works on the slim too?

Anyway, I lost my codebreaker, so I can't test it out sweatdrop

the only problem with them is that the break the chain of programs and commands from the disk. therefore, creating a big possibility of a system failure. i loved gameshark and codebreaker till they wiped out the reading and processing system for my ps2.. i wouldnt want to jack up something on such an expensive peice of machinery. try playin the games the old fasion way, theyre much more fun

I don't see this as a big possibility unless you're editing outside the game memory. All you're doing is hex editing, and as long as you hex edit the game memory, and nothing else, you shouldn't have problems.
