I've never played Animal Crossing for the Gamecube, so I didn't get this reference until after I'd watched some videos on YouTube.
In Animal Crossing Wild World, Kapp'n just seems to disappear after dropping you off in your new town, but if you visit the Roost at certain times, he might be there.
He doesn't say much, but he'll ask if you want him to sing. It doesn't matter what you say, he won't sing for you.
I didn't think much of it, but I saw a video from the Gamecube Animal Crossing where Kapp'n does sing! It was really cute (and ridiculous). Check the video at the 4:40 mark.
I thought it was neat.
