With Ronnie's epic lyrics and vocals accompined by the band's unique three lead guitar style and endless members who couldn't like em'?
From the haunting "That Smell" to the enlightening "Simple Man" and the most shouted request song ever (Free birrrrrd!!!) the band had just begun to pave their mainstream sucess before tragically losing a handful of the members during a plane crash on tour.
Discuss this awesome possum band!

I think my favorite lyric is the opening line to That Smell.
"Whiskey Bottles and Brand New Cars... Oak Tree you're in my way. There's too much smoke, and too much coke, look what's goin' on inside you."
Just Ronnie Van Zants disgust with the rock n roll lifestyle. The first part referring to Gary Rossington's drunk driving accident.
