I have taken to keeping a reading log of the books I complete each month during the last year and now that 2007 is coming to a close I consider what my bookish pasttimes have tasted in the previous twelve months. There have been a lot of average reads and thankfully very few bad books that I consider to have been a waste of time and money. My only regret is not finding more books to love, books that were I asked to rate I could do nothing more than just paste a heart next to them as all the thought that should be afforded on the subject.

How has your reading been over the last year? What books did you absolutely adore? What books do you consider to have been a waste of paper and ink? Have you found any new authors that you really like or hate? Were there any books that left you stunned or changed the way that you viewed the world around you?

Well, I'd have to say this was the year I discovered Jim Butcher--then gobbled up just about everything by him in print. I've read all the Dresden Files, am working on the Codex Alera, and am also tracking down any Dresden short stories in various collections.

I can't say I've really read any serious wastes of paper, thank goodness.

I would love to say my past year with reading, has been extremly good. Although there's a couple of books that would like to throw in the trash ( I.E. Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows ) But there's also the ones where I would just love to read over and over again (I.E. Confessor - Terry Goodkind)

Anyhow, It's been a good year with a lot of accomplishments.

It was pretty good for me too. I found a few what I like to call "gems". Such as Code Orange, & the Twilight series. Also, since I'm a gamer it was a very good year for gaming. It was hard to really choose which one to at times. xd

I say it was a decent year! The idea of keeping a book journal sounds wonderful! I think I might take your idea there! As for books I thaught it was an interesting year. Nothing too terrible, although my most recent read of Wicked was rather dissapointing. I suspect the play to be better in this case, only because it seems more tied together than the book appears to be. I did read Inkheart and Inkspell, those where rather plesent books with a lovly view of things so I would say all and all it turned out quite well... I think I will start this year by re-reading the Narnia books, now that the second movie is coming out....
