are you kidding? the movie was amazing! it added in more twists and had a much better ending. they did a good job finding people who looked liked the characters from the anime. and personally i cant wait for the spin off coming out. the anime/manga was great as well but in my opinion died after episode 24. im not going to say why because i dont want to spoil anything. i say everyone who has finished the series should watch it.

The anime and the manga were better than the movies... But then they ended... you know how...
The actors in the movies really looked like the anime ones... but their acting skills were poor and the production was cheap.
If we ignore how the anime/manga ends (and all the crappy stuff with M & N) we could state that it's better than the movies. But if we don't, I would not be sure about wich one is better.
By the way, this topic's name is awful.

I like the movies more. I think it was better written than the anime/manga. And I cannot wait until the spin off about L comes out. I think the actors are gerat and it seems well put together in my opinion.

Hm, the movies always looked like they'd be pretty good. I know, I know...I could just go to deathnote.tv and I will...just later. domokun
I'm just sooo fascinated with the guy who plays L, yet is he not the real L? MMM....but what do you think about the actor for Light? I look at him, but he doesn't seem to resemble Light much. Can he even do the conniving laugh? twisted

I, personally, loved the movie more then the anime series, honestly when i look at anime series, they tend to drag on and on and sometimes random stuff happens (not to spoil), but the movie 1 and 2 begins and ends. I like the movie because i love how the actors were great, and the animations of the shinigami's weren't bad. But everyone has their own opinion, so really, if the movie disappointed you im sorry to hear that, but i loved the movies.

hem..i have seen the whole anime series, but not both movies just the first also in my personally opinion, the movies lived up to the anime becuse it was live action and not all animated so not all the "small" details where put. so all together i say that both the anime and movies are great!

I prefer the anime. You cannot replace animated charecters with actors, to me it takes all the interest out of it. If you must make an anime movie then make it animated. domokun

huh...well especially if the person's incredibly close to being perfect for the role, like I said before...Ken'ichi Matsuyama, the guy who plays L!! Then it's pretty much worth the whole live action of the manga, I think haha. mrgreen

Okay, the actors were hott... redface I have to admit that but I agree that the anime and manga is better than the movie. I love the characters of Near and Mello and their personalities but they don't even show in the movies, but that's just me being biased.
I can't say that the movie sucked because I can say that I couldn't stop talking about how great the movie was with my friends.
