I do not hate anything about my first FF game. But Vann could have less of a whiny voice, that got a tad annoying. But all in all its the best game in the world to me heart

No. I don't hate Vaan. For one thing, being stupid and gay, which I don't think of Vaan as either though he does make mistakes, are no reasons to hate people, so why should they be reasons to hate video game characters? Second, he appears to be the hero/main character of the game, so without him what would FFXII really be like? Would it exist at all? Probably not exactly with that storyline. Third, I find him to be quite an intersting and ammusing character even if I don't laugh out loud very much when playing games. Fourth, he can get pretty useful I think.

Of course they're good reasons to hate characters, or at least dislike them. Characters are intended to be appealing (or symbolic or some such crap in some cases, but not here), so if characteristics don't appeal to you, I think it's perfectly fine to dislike characters with them. I pretty much talking about stupidity here; I don't condone homophobia in any case. I don't apply this for real people either, by the way. I'm not telling you you can hate stupid people, really. sweatdrop

As a short note, it is easier to hate or dislike fictional characters than real persons. If something annoys, it annoys surely twice as much on character than human. biggrin
I see more justified and better on some level to hate something that is made up than living person. Real people have much more layers and different sides when every character is after all concept and more or less visible stereotype. (Not necessarily in bad way)

Real people have much more layers and different sides when every character is after all concept and more or less visible stereotype. (Not necessarily in bad way) I find it the other way around; there are so many characters I love but wouldn't be able to stand in real life: Irvine, Zell, Yuffie, Edgar, Zidane, Brother... the hyper and flirty people, I guess. The thing is, real people may have more layers, but games are set up so that you can see all of the character's layers, and get to know a deeper side of them. In real life, you may only get to know the annoying bits.

That's very true too. And with annoying parts, it really requires luck to get to know the rest of the person. Or patience... mrgreen
One part in my favorite characters often is, that I would not always like to be close such person. You made quite complete list of most annoying characters.. Still they are great anyway. Except Brother who I can't sympathize at any level.

I think the game programmers should have stuck with badass type characters like cloud and auron. final fantasy 12 didn't have as many characters that I actually liked.
