I'm just curious what people think about saying "I love you" in romantic relationships. I think the phrase is tossed around too casually these days, and many people don't give real thought to what it means... What do you think? How do you know when to say "I love you" or refrain? And what do you do if someone says "I love you" and you're not ready to say "I love you, too"?

I completely agree! I think people do toss it around to easily. It takes a while to know that you really love somebody. I think true love, means that you would do anything for that person and you'll always love them no matter what. It seems like people says it but they don't mean it as passionately and whenever troubles happen, That person is gone.

I agree as well. Half the time somebody asks to borrow something and the response is along the lines of "Oh my God, you're a life saver. I love you!" Of course there are different kinds of love though. There's the kind of love you feel towards your family, the kind between you and your friends (your chosen family) and then there's romantic love. And that phrase flies around so much it seems as if people are starting to forget what it means sometimes, which is really sad.

I totally believe that you should wait for marriage until your older. 'I love you' is tossed around waaaaaaaaaay too casually. People need to get out a dictionary and look it up. Also, people these days are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too serious in high school. Relax and chill a little bit people! You have your whole life ahead of you, don't just throw it away. Now, if you are in a stable relationship and really do love one another, then by all means. Just prepare for the consequences. I believe in only saying, 'I love you' if I am going to marry the guy. Don't take it to far though like my friend. This is her Freshman year and first boyfriend and they are already 'engaged'!
