Mousers09 Its electric! I've been hit too many times to name. Actually one year this girl in my section got the flag actually stuck on the flag and it comeplete took the top off her clarinet. lol One of the flags ate our school, the cloth part stuck into the keys of the flute, and made the flute fly up into the players face X_x OH that happend to me my boyfriend plays flute and i was going to my next spot and we started (he was behind me) the wind picked up and the hole at the end of my flag cought hit foot joint and sent the thing half way across the field i was so embarrased! redface cuz we just started dating

My band director decided to put the guard inside a square made of band kids and then have us move backwards out of the square while the square was getting smaller. This was with 6.5ft flags with 4ft silks. The person learned after a few practices she had to move slower so I could get out. She's a baton now. I think the only other thing I have ever done was get a ribbon caught around a sax when it was windy, but I couldn't control that. Besides a trombone got me back later that game.

I hit my band director once. He was standing behind me in the second song and I had to backstep & do work so I couldnt see.
Well, I ran him over, and almost hit him with the swing flag. My directors told me good job when we got off the field. None of us like him. domokun

I'm on guard, but I still know how it feels to be hit by a flag; my own and other peoples'. It's my second year of colorguard and I think I've only hit two people. Someone on drumline (they write the craziest drill for us, we have so many two-step interval pass throughs o_o) and even our drum major (in the butt apparently).
But our coach says if they're in the way (not in their proper drill spot, otherwise it's uncalled for) then give them a shout and if they still don't get out of the way then there's nothing we can do, we're never allowed to let someone else prevent us from doing our work.
We definately have a point system.
drum-line: 100 clarinets: 50 saxes: 75 flutes: 25 horn line: 45 drum major: 200 coach/ band director: RUN!
