So, anyone want to share some poetry? I hope so, otherwise I'm gonna feel pretty stupid.

Okay... maybe this isn't really a poem; it's a song I wrote for the first person that broke my heart, when I was all tore up over still loving them in spite of the lies and pain. Then again, since I can't exactly sing it in a post, perhaps it could be classified as a poem after all.

"Bittersweet Agony"

Remember the time I saw you standing there, shoulders bowed in the rain
with your eyes closed?
Remember you turned to me and smiled, sweetly sad and wondering,
cold at my doorstep?
I couldn't tell the rain on your face from tears fallen like my heart,
off a cliff's edge.

You know it's better than before. How could I ever ask for more?
The warmth of your smile took away the chill.

You told me it would be just fine that night, there's nothing wrong at all...
but there never is.
Your eyes glittered like diamonds in the rain, I'll never be the same
but I'll be all right.

You know it's better than before. How could I ever ask for more?
The warmth of your smile took away the chill.

So put your arms around me one more time, and there we'll stand for moments
like a lifetime.
Rain beats down on us from the dark above, thunder soon to follow
heartbeats' echo.

You know it's better than before. How could I ever ask for more?
The warmth of your smile took away the chill.
The tempest of your love is breaking on me still.
