Well, since today is Christmas, I thought this would be a nice thread to make!
What books did you get today? What books did you ask for but not get? Did you get anyone a book or books? Did you get so many books that you need a new bookshelf? Did you ask for/get a new bookshelf? Did I ask you enough questions?
I got more books than anything else today! I got:
~ Ten Stephen King books: Misery, Thinner, Pet Sematary, Roadwork, The Dark Half, The Eyes of the Dragon, The Running Man, The Long Walk, Everything's Eventual: 14 Dark Tales, and Lisey's Story.
~ Three Anne Rice books: Pandora, The Mummy, and Blackwood Farm.
~ Two random books that I had asked for: Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, and Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaimen.
I’ve been asking for a new bookshelf, but I have yet to get it. I also got a box that looks like a hardback book. It has a Fleur de Lis on it with the words “Fleur de Lis” under it.

I only asked for one book and I received it: Rhett Butler's People. I also received a gift card from my brother so I plan on purchasing Eragon and Eldest with it.

One quote book and one book named A short history of almost everything this was the first christmas ever I didn't wish any books.

I got 6 gift cards to borders, cause I had a list that was long.

I got Read or Dream vols. 1 and 2, and What Would Dewey Do?, which is a collectin of Unshevled webcomic strips. I also got about $80 worth of Borders cards.

I got a first edition copy of The Sapphire Rose and a first edition copy of Avalon, the Return of King Arthur from my boyfriend, he saw me spaz when we found them at a local used book store and he went back and got them for me.
My parents got me Dead Beat by Jim Butcher, it's the seventh book of the Dresden Files and the next one I needed from the point I was at in the series. They also gave me Jinx by Meg Cabot and a gift card to Barnes and Noble
The rest of my family and friends gave me gift cards. As did a customer at work because she and I talk about books frequently.

I'm kind of irritated. I was banking on gift cards for Borders and Barnes & Noble like I received last year and I got none. It's so not fair.

Not even a gift card was recieved this year, but I did get a movie that has influenced me to read a book I already had, if that counts for anything.

I got mainly computer stuff, but I also got these books:
Demonata 1- Lord Loss (Darren Shan)
Demonata 2- Demon Thief (Darren Shan)
Vampire Kisses- Blood Relitives 1 (Ellen Schreiber)
I also asked for the Journey to the west book from my Grandma, but I haven't gotten her gifts yet...

I'm frustrated. I got no books for xmas, and the only gift card was to WalMart. scream

I'm happy. My dad got me The Golden Compass which I hadn't thought I would ever read because my library closed.
Then my mom got me a borders card for $30, because Dragon Harper by Anne and Todd McCaffrey, the book I wanted, wasn't released til after christmas (I later bought said book and finished it in three days).
My brother also got me a gift card to a place called booksamillion, which I had never heard of/been to before. He didn't come right out and say how much it was for, but I finally got him to tell me: $50. surprised Incredible! SO Christmas was good. mrgreen

a book of liberal quotes and two giftcards to a local bookstore, so yeah.
oh! and i got a book about tim burton from my awesome second cousin!

I realize this is a little late, but I spent some of those gift cards finally: Got myself the other two Read or Dream books, and the comic adaptation of Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton.
