really, the only reason I haven't been on in so very long, is the length of time it takes to download the patches, it is making me furious, every time i sit down to play, i have more patches to download, but I have to leave before the patch is ever finished downloading, and they just kepp piling up. I am beginning to wonder If I will ever get to play again.... I know this computer has been having problems lately and it has been running a bit slow, but still. any suggestions?

this is probably covered somewhere but oh well I'll give my advice, start with running spybot S&D, and then go to your task manager and shutdown unnecessary tasks that are running in the background. that might help a little bit, also i have found trying to download the patches on patch day suxs balls period.

Funnily enough, as i write this im patching up WoW on my new computer (Yey for Christmas Presents) and i must admit, this is going way faster then my crappy pc. I downloaded the first, 400+MB patch in about 20 - 30 minutes, and this 700MB patch has only taken about an hour. Its on 90% at the moment, and once this is finished im sticking BC in and getting that over and done with. You just need a good computer and internet connection speed (My Patch is running at about 200+kb/s).

I'd suggest using patch mirrors, as Blizz's downloader is the spawn of Satan. Go to this site for a list.

Considering how much time people spend playing WoW, I think patch time is a good break inbetween playing sessions. =/

patches are great, it's expansions i despise... leave us be! most of us havn't even gotton past kara and most never will even get to it because of the speed they seem to be churning out expansions... i want at least another year of just bc crying .
oh and yea, scan yer pc for viruses, if it's fine then get a better internet connection or perhaps look towards investing in a new pc. small patches for me take literally 2 seconds to download, bigger ones like that zul'aman patch take like 5mins =P.

Karnokoto God damn Blizzard for adding new content and fixing bugs. I want to do the same damn thing over and over again and I want everything to be BROKEN, DAMMIT!Yeah, that. When a new patch comes out, I just start it up (the downloader that is), go have a smoke and read a book. Chances are it's finished by the time the book is, and I enjoyed myself. So win-win.
