*Deep within the bowels of Gaia, a monster stirred itself from the spot it had been resting. Twin golden slitted eyes scanned the cave in which it lived, the darkness so profound, that most creatures would think they had fallen into the plane of shadow itself. In fact, that is exactly what this was, a pocket of planar transition. The darkness had coalesced into a doorway to the shadow plane and through it creatures of all sorts traveled, the most powerful of these being the cave's current owner.. a Shadow Dragon. The fell creature spread its wings and gathered itself as it began to consider the way it would plot revenge against the foul humanoid that dared to claim power over itself.. that damned demon drow Val'atar. First though, a deal had been made and there was a group of tasty humanoids that would soon find out why creatures feared the shadows.. the dragon readied itself, then sprung into the air off a cleft into the air of a massive crevasse that lead to the world above.*

*Great shadowed wings spread and beat at the weighted air as his lithe body is carried upwards towards the surface realm. Summoning his magic, he used the shadows as a doorway into a tunnel above, his eyes scanning the darkness for the heat of a living creature. He saw the world much the way the drow did when he wished, heat was shown in colors varied by the temperature. He saw nothing at the moment, so onward he went, flowing like a dark whisper through the caverns towards his target. They weren't hard to find, the smell alone gave away their position as he sprang from the darkness upon the tanarukk guards. They died as his breath fell over them, withering their bodies as he moved onwards, searching for their leader.. the ogre. Several more squads of the half-demons were destroyed before he found the one he searched for.. but things weren't as they seemed. His enemy wasn't just an ogre, he was an ogre mage and he knew magic. Dr'akanvor'tal sprang at the ogre mage, unleashing his breath weapon, but the ogre was smarter than he seemed, throwing up a shield of magic as he began casting another spell. Snarling, the wyrm leapt upon his foe, clawing at the shield, his ebon claws tearing great furrows in the arcane bubble that protected the ogre. He knew however that he wouldn't get through before his foe finished his spell, so he called on the shadows once more and vanished into the darkness.. reapearing on a shelf of rock far above his target. The ogre mage spun about, looking for the dragon while he hastily withdrew a wand from his belt. His harsh voice rang out through the cavern as he called for his tanarukk guards.. but little did he know that his words fell on dead ears. Dr'akanvor'tal narrowed his slitted eyes as he waited.. watching the crackle of the arcane power that flowed through the shield over his enemy. When he figured the magic was waning, he dropped from above, landing with his great onyx claws tearing into the shield.. and then through it. Death spewed from his great jaws, washing over the massive figure of the ogre mage, withering his life and his strength. Once his foe had been weakened, the wyrm drew back and smiled.. toying with his victim.*
"Your time a** ruler of the Red Sscourge iss at an end.. behold your death. I am Dr'akanvor'tal, now you will facce oblivion with my name haunting your ssoul."
*His great head snaked forward before the ogre mage could summon any more magic, massive teeth slamming into the torso of his foe as the great jaws closed shut, snapping the ogre nearly in two. Thick blood dribbled to the floor as he swallowed the bottom half of the ogre, then he reached down and snatched up the top and swallowed it as well. He'd search the corpse later for magical items.. for now, he scanned the area and snatched up several magic treasures, then turned and leapt into a nearby shadow, sailing off into the darkness below.*
