"Sophie! Why'd ya bring that?"

She looked up from her laptop as Jeremy sat on the bench beside her. Bundled up in his over-puffy blue jacket, blue wool hat and blue scarf, he resembled nothing so much as a blonde Arctic explorer. He leaned over and tried to sneak a peak at her screen. She quickly slammed it shut. "That's none of your business!" she growled.

He shrugged, rolled his eyes. "Fiiiiine, geek. Type away sitting in a park, that's not weird at all, noooo." He waved his arms dramatically. Sophie snarled and swiped for his hat but he ducked and hopped away, laughing.

"Go away and play with your friends, Jeremy." She opened up her laptop again and started on her English essay.

There was a moment of silence. Jeremy broke it first. "Whatever. It's your fault if I get kidnapped." She heard him tromp away over the frozen ground. She didn't bother to look up until she finished the opening paragraph. By that time Jeremy was already on the park's playground, tossing pebbles at his friend from the top of the slide and spooking the mothers watching their children.

Sophie just sighed, snuggled deeper into her parka and wondered how she could compare The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn to Gulliver's Travels.

The Hacker egg twirled in the middle of her desktop.

Wearing a simple winter attire of a dark red knit hat, a black hoodie with skulls and stars decorating it, and his cozy knit black gloves Fiach trotted through the park. The long black pants swished about with each long stride, as his breath froze upon the air. Reminding himself to breathe in through his nose and out through his mouth lest he end up with a cold come the next day, his mind wandered over the past couple of weeks. Things were boiling up to a point he wasn't sure he could handle anymore, and a long run had been just what the doctor ordered. Or, at least, he hoped it was.

Spotting the young lady sitting on a bench, Fiach sighed and pondered finding a path around her, but decided that would be too suspicious. Pulling his cap lower as he felt his pace slow up, he was curious about why someone would be enjoying technology over nature on a fine day such as this, but was also afraid to approach someone he didn't know. Keeping his face as forward as he could, he slowed to an easy stroll as he approached the bench. Truth be told he was a bit tired from running the past half hour over, but was weary about sitting next to the young woman.

Pausing near to the bench, he gave the empty space a small glance before mustering up the nerve to quietly mutter, "Is it...all right if I sit down?" Not really looking at the girl, feeling awkward enough to be asking permission to sit on a public bench, Fiach half hoped she said no, half hoped she said yes. Running for long periods of time tended to leave people tired, no matter how much they didn't want to admit it.
