I stumbled upon what are know as Corset Piercings while I was on wikipedia browsing about tight lacing and pondering buying an actual hand made proper corset (as opposed to the two I own from Hot Topic)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corset_piercing http://www.bmezine.com/news/pubring/20050417.html (warning: a few irritated/infected/scarred pictures here)
But I love the idea so much..Im thinking about getting surface bars when I have some spare cash. Like, a set on my torso and on my back, so I can lace along my sides as well if I chose.
Im totally fine with the concept of babying such piercings and not even trying out the rings/ribbon combo til after a few months. My main issue is finding someone to help me care for such piercings along my back. I dont have a significant other....despite the fact Im getting more comfortable with the idea of dating again.
Anyway. Thoughts? Am I mildly insane? Should I try getting a temporary set to see how I like such adornments? And most importantly; Moo?

He destroyed my life...
There are a few things that you have to consider. First of all, infection. Infections are very likely in any piercing you have, especially ones in places that your clothes will rub against. Once they have healed also, if you choose you are bored of hem or do not like them any more, and if they close up; you will be left with scars. If they don't close up, you will be left with a load of holes in your body. As well as th fact that you have to be near enough naked to show them off.
Problem is, piercings are like tattoos, they are near enough permanent and if you don't like them, you are stuck with them.
And it, in all honesty, does not look very attractive at all. Cool, but not attractive.
Now I will destroy him.

I think they are pretty to look at... but not so much to have myself. I agree with everything the above said... AND corsets were originally to waist train, or at least to help the figure look slimmer. So while they are pretty, the one purpose corsets have is.. not there for the piercing. So it's an almost pointless risk to take, having the piercings.. in my opinion.

You had at me at Hello. Try temporary first. The scar tissue that forms after they're taken out will help keep in permanent ones.
Most corset piercings reject though, due to infection, and really just because it's like any other kind of surface piercing, and most surface piercings have a high chance of rejection.
But corset piercings are pretty, but they're def not something you can really keep permanently most of the time. It's just a lot of work.
Would it be okay, would it be okay if I took your breath away?

Tehe, I know all too much about piercings. Infact by the end of the year I plan do have, my collar pierced, 2 surface piercings on my neck, already have my snake bites, tounge, anti-eyebrow, nasal, and the back of my neck i plan to have 5 bars put into a surface piercing in the shape of a star. Let's not get started on tattoo's i want.
Though Corset piercings are quite beautiful, they fall out to easily. That's why if you get them you should get the bars that are slightly curved so that when they heal the skin won't force the bar out. If you want to lace it up then you can get the same bars but with hoops at the ends.

Moo all the way.
But, here's what I think.
1. They are insanely hard to take care of.
2. They hurt a lot.
3. When you are old and start sagging...well...you know where this is going.
4. They make me think of mutilation.
