So long as you have a bass clarinet you can practice on all you really have to do is get used to the fact that your fingers are further apart on bass than on clarinet.
Go bass clarinets!! heart

it's the same thing as a clarinet, just a few extra keys at the bottom. the only big differnce is that the keys are bigger and there's more space between. try "walking" your fingers through the keys to get used to them.

Just practice. It shouldn't take you very long. I think it took me like a day or two at the most. There is just like one extra key at the bottom and one less at the top. razz

If you own one just practice.... You can find sheet music all over the place online or borrow one from your school?

iyou need a different emboshure. tighter lipas and mouth. make sure that you don't puff out your sheeks or you'll blast. the keys are farther apart, so your hands need to be cloder to the instrument, you'll need to play on it for at least a week so that your new reed softens so that you don't have to blow really hard and make you faint. 3nodding it happend to me at solo and ensemble. sweatdrop xd

I play clarinet, and one time I tried to play bass. It's really not that different. One clarinet is bigger than the other, and one has a few moer notes than the other (for lower notes). I practiced with regular clarinet music, and that's how I got used to it. The only real difference between the two, like Aderyn_Eara said, is that the fingers are further apart.

Not only are your fingers more 'spread out' on the keys, you have to have a more open throat to get the low notes like E and E flat.
