I love how this thread has accumulated mostly tenor/timps.
Does most of everyone's band have five timpani drums? Or at least one piccolo drum for marching season or am I the only one? I saw a lot at Grand Nats but just around my town there isn't very many schools with five xD
What's everyone playing for the ensembles during winter? I got a timpani part~ WOOP!

Timpani is my favorite :]
I played it for Orion but then our brass sucks butt so we got the song taken away crying now we played crappy songs for our Christmas Concert.
I think it's stupid that percussion in our school is always the most least informed -.-
But I like our ensembles.
plus we have to work in the stupid work room.
nest year our new percussionists coming from 6th grade are all black kids xD
plus a white nerdy kid names Eli -.-

I posted it under "We Wish You A Merry Christmas Instrumental" it should be at the very top :] I'm the short azn kid that plays the triangle the bells and the Guido. xD

Quitting Gaia...we only have 4 timpanis and we don't have the best equipment :
xD
we usually have to borrow from the high school or take their old equipment because most of the money goes towards the woodwinds or the brass.

Rapid Fury, dont worry im asian too... half asian, half black. and let me take the time to 1-up and say most of the money that went to our band program went to 3 brand new timpanis. and the rest went to the brass and woodwind for cases and instruments. and 7th, dont worry you got another year in band. you must be good by now man. this is my last year in middle school (8th).

I love to play timpanis, and since I'm usually the only girl in band class, I get to a lot. The fact that I can play these huge drums, and four of them at once makes me feel like I'm the queen!! Well, JK, but its still so much fun! mrgreen The band doesn't have the best equip, but we still kick a**!

I agree with ya gypsy, timps are awesome!
And I'm the only one who can sing except for a couple of juniors and singers who made the drumline but were on timp in freshman year. xD it's great.
and to Rapid Fury, hey I agree it is definitly gay when the band steals ALL the money and keeps it for teh woodwinds and brass. I hate it when they do that I mean...EVEN after our ******** huge fundraiser that was like 50k xD we still had nothing...CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!?...it sickens me. lol
