Chaos pondered, casting about for something they could use to mark their trail. "It would be a problem if we got lost... But it would just be another adventure, wouldn't it?" she said.
Treasure scoffed, "It could turn into a very long adventure when it takes you more than a few days to find your way back." Eyeing the flecks and clumps of green that were rocking with the waves, Treasure stood and walked over to the shore. "What about using seaweed?" she offered.
"Seaweed!" Pond squeaked, diving into the water and popping back up with a clump clamped in his mouth. Dashing back onto the shore he deposited the weeds at Zinnia's feet, wiping at his tongue with his paws and spitting distastfully. "Salty!" he said with a now floppy tongue.

"Seaweed?" Zinnia thought about this potiential option for a bit. "Yeah, I think that would work. So, let's gather up some seaweed so that we can go off and explore the mountain."

"Alright!" Chaos said, bounding into the water and getting her fur coated in the weeds so that it looked like she was just a mound of seaweed as she came out again.
Treasure waded into the water and started gathering some of the deeper, longer strands, draping them carefully over an arm as she asked, "How many do you think you'll need?"
Pond merely stayed on the ground, wiping at his tongue and looking up at Zinnia as if to repeat Treasure's question, his eyes shifting between gazing at her wide-eyed and glaring at the seaweed distastefully.

Zinnia thought over it a minute, and said, "Not as much as Chaos has not. I don't know how big the mountain is, but if we only leave it when we're given a choice of paths then we shouldn't need too much." She was thinking somewhere from 20 weeds to 30 weeds. She doubted they'd need that much, but better to have too much than too little.

Chaos started growling and rolling around trying to get the weeds off, shredding them to bits as she finally struggled free. "They don't like me in the pond or the sea!" she gasped, flopping down onto the sand.
Treasure shook her head at Chaos, handing an armful of about 30 weeds to Zinnia, "You can break them into smaller pieces if you wish, that way it's easier to keep track of how far you can go..."
Pond scurried about behind Treasure, moving to behind Zinnia as the anthro walked over to her, trying to keep at least one Namir between the weeds and himself.

Zinnia happily took the handful of weeds. "Thank you. I think I'll take that advice too." It seemed like a good idea to her. Plus, the more she could mark the farther they could go.
