The fourth planet in the Polydeukes System, alongside her sister planet Pollux, Castor was one of the first planets to be colonized by the Confederacy Empire. Originally designed to be an agricultural due to the abundance of cultivatable soil, Castor became a population center as the Empire's population soared. In order to protect the agricultural origins of the planet, a large planetary ring was constructed to hold most of the planet's industry. Though the ring moved most of the industry into space, large metropolises formed around the ring supports. Many government offices were located on the ring, lovingly referred to as the Wheel, as well as many major corporate offices.

In order to strike at the heart of the Confederate Core, Castor was selected to be attacked by the Restoration Alliance, and the two armadas battled in orbit. On the ground, the Restoration Alliance's ground forces encountered an embattled Confederate army fighting against an enraged populace. The battle lasted only a few hours, as the Imperial governor was captured early and forced to surrender. The third signer of the Galactic Federation Charter, Castorians felt a greater sense of pride in the new Federation. When Tarsonis rebelled, they called for Castorians to join in their rebellion. This was, of course, a call that fell on deaf ears and Castor sided with the Federation.
