I've noticed that some of the newcomers have been getting some of these questions wrong. I thought this might be the best way to correct those of you without PMing everyone individually, because let's face it I just don't have the time for that.
1. What is the object of the game? The object of the game is to win a match against your opponent.
2. What is the minimum amount of cards you must have in your deck? You must have 40 cards in your deck, with anywhere from 1 to 15 cards in your side deck (if you use one, that is).
3. How many duels are there in a match? A match consists of 3 individual duels. Should you win the first 2, then the 3rd isn't necessary.
4. Name 2 ways to win a match. Defeat your opponent 2 out of 3 times, or reduce your opponent's life points to 0 by attacking directly with Victory Dragon.
5. Name 2 ways to decide if a match is a draw. If all 3 duels end in a draw, or if you and your opponent both win 1 duel each and the final duel is a draw.
6. How many Life Points do you begin with at the beginning of a duel? Every duel is started with both players having 8000 Life Points.
7. How can Life Points be reduced? There are 2 ways: By battle, or by monster, spell or trap effects.
8. How can you win a duel? If your opponent is unable to draw when required to, reduce your opponent's Life Points to 0 or use an effect such as Exodia The Forbidden One, Destiny Board, Final Countdown, Last Turn, etc.
9. If your opponent lowers your Life Points to 0, what happens? If your Life Points are reduced to 0, you lose the duel.
10. What happens if you and your opponents Life Points reach 0 at the same time? In this situation, the duel is ended in a draw.
11. If you cannot draw any more cards from your deck when you are required to, what happens? You lose the duel.
12. When does the stand-by phase occur? The stand-by phase takes place immediately following the draw phase.
13. When are you allowed to draw cards? During your draw phase or when resolving a card effect that allows you to do so.
14. What are some ways which you can identify fake cards? All cards are printed by Upperdeck and Konami. Most fake cards will not have the holographic square in the bottom right hand corner, this is a Konami trademark. Another sign that a card may be a forgery, it's rarity may be off or it may be from a booster set that doesn't exist.
15. Does the fusion deck count towards the minimum card limit of your main deck? No, a fusion deck is seperate. You may have as many cards in your fusion deck as you like, however, you must still follow the limitation rule.
16. When you summon "Dark Magician Girl" and you have "Dark Magician of Chaos" in the graveyard, does Dark Magician Girl get her 300 atk point boost? No, she doesn't. Her effect applies only to Dark Magician and Magician of Black Chaos.
