for those of you that don't know Naruto Shippuuden takes place 2 or 3 years after Naruto ends and pretty much gets back to the main story of Naruto looking for Sasuke. [SPOILERS....well kinda kinda] after Naruto episode 151 there are just a bunch of fillers so you may want to just skip to shippuuden and continue the story there. NO you will not be missing anything important
