I see a "Trukk not Munky!"
I would actually say that the series's style is much more akin to western cartoons in the vein of Justice League and the 90's Batman and Superman series. I mean, you've seen anime, right? This looks a lot less like that than a lot of other Western knock-offs floating around (Winx Club, I'm looking at you).
But just because it's not a continuation of Cybertron, doesn't mean that it's going to suck. So, no, I'm not disappointed. I'm going to save any of those automatically reactions for when the actual thing airs. But I watched the three-minute clip of it that's online, and I think it looks good, so far.
Also, I fail to see how this is anything like the movie, with the exception of their designs being a bit more complex and Megatron no longer bending physics over a table and raping it by turning into a gun that's a fraction of the size it rightfully should be.
Whatever the case, this isn't going to ruin Transformers forever.

I admit I thought I was going to hate it when I first saw it, but it's starting to grow on me..... very slowly. I'm still not too keen on Optimus' look and conception, but Megatron makes up for that big time.

Something about this new series does not have the same appeal as the other series I watched. Were the toys made from Hasbro or Takara question

I also freely admit that my first impression of it was "WTF?!?" Slowly, perhaps I am merely adapting to it, or perhaps that poor impression is wearing off. Now, the more of it I see, the more I come to accept it. Not love it yet, but at least say "it's worth a look."
BB has actually surprised me. Facing certain doom as the legend Megatron approaches their crippled ship his biggest concern is that Megs can fly? razz I got a chuckle out of that one!

I didn't see Cybertron at all (save for a few minutes of channel surfing), so I can't comment on the quality of that show.
But it is nice to see Transformers being made by a US company for the first time since G1 (BW & BM were actually made in Canada).
I admit, I saw the first promotional image and didn't know what to think. The super deformation style (which has thankfully been reduced) concerned me.
The show is planning on focusing character development, action, and humour. I've already read the summary of the entire 1st season episodes, and I gotta say, it's refreshing to see a show that develops more than just 2 characters. (Like I said before, I'm unsure how Cybertron went. But by the norm of japanamation stories, it probably focused entirely on Prime).
I look forward to it.

Mmkay. Bring it on! I have my DVR set! Pretty sure this is like one of many threads about this huh? Anyways, I don't really care what the "look" of the show is defined as, I only really care about the story line, if it sucks it sucks but I'll still watch it, because I luv Transformers <3 Oh and I'm looking forward to seeing StarScream makes me laugh that his voice actor is the same guy who does Spongebob lolz

There are some WTF moments but overall, it shows potential. The voice acting is superb, that alone is worth a good watch.
