Now it was night-time, and the moon was a full, luminous circle. It seemed to fill the sky, covering the ground with it's light. The grass of the plains seemed to glow a green-silver, never interrupted by trees or other shrubs. Nothing but grass, except for the blur of white and gray racing across the flatlands.
In the distance the lunar could see the mountains- Surely the home of more Kyn. Tsukikaijuu would hear the hallowing tale of the True Kyn and the Man Child echoing in his ears each time he stopped to rest during the day. But now, with the moon illuminating his fur, Tsuki felt as though he were able to run the entire distance of the plains alone.
Alone: He was completely alone. Somehow the lunar felt at ease without the human. But every once in awhile, when he closed his eyes to sleep for a little while as his body required, he felt a strange tug in the back of his mind. The tug seemed to have a strange twang to it that made even Tsuki, in all his stubbornness, feel a bit regretful that he had left the human.
What was the clumsy, weak thing doing now? Was he rearing that little monster that took Tsuki's place? Did he even remember the once confused, frightful pup that the racing Kyn used to be?
Either way, Tsukikaijuu knew that he couldn't stop now. The story of the True Kyn had to be shared, even though the Lunar knew that he would never see the legendary Black Island. Plus, there was the matter of whether or not he would ever be rewarded: Tigris, considering his attitude towards 'Other Kyn', might not even consider giving on of the mangy human-following Kyn a treasure for his or her work.
But wouldn't helping those Kyn off of that island be worth it?
Tsuki wasn't sure, honestly.
If they were all like Tigris, hateful of the Other Kyn and looking upon them like animals, what's to say that they wouldn't try to exterminate the Other Kyn, or make them their slaves? But on the other hand, maybe the Other Kyn were already slaves to their bonded. Tsukikaijuu had certainly felt as though he was tied to that mostly fur-less thing when he was around the human.
Even while thinking all of this, the male Lunar Kyn continually sped along at a fast pace, fueled by the moon and the story of the True Kyn.

"Oh, damnit," Tare murmured under his breath, soaring over the forest. He angled downward and slunk down to the ground to get his bearings, turning in a slow circle and flapping his small wings. He could hear something coming, and as he looked up it resolved itself into the shape of a Lunar running out of the woods.
"Hail!" he called, raising his upper body some, resting his belly on the ground. "Can you tell me which way the marsh is?"

Looking up, Tsukikaijuu saw something temporarily block out part of the moon as it came to the ground in front of him. What he saw was a large, Japanese-looking kyn that seemed friendly enough. He slowed to a stop in front of the other, peering up into his face.
"I'm afraid not, friend. Can you spare a second, though? I bring news of importance to you."
Tsuki didn't feel nearly as friendly as he sounded, but this was what he had to do, both for himself and for the Other Kyn.

He sighed. "Ahh... thank you, anyway. I'm trying to find my lover's home." He chuckled. "Afraid I've gotten a bit sidetracked." The dragon looked up wistfully, then moved down onto his foreclaws again and began to stretch out, watching the smaller Lunar. "What is this news, though? Surely, you weren't looking for me?" He watched Tsuki thoughtfully and murmured, "Such a strange night this is..."
