Seriously. Slayers pulls off some excellent comedy with a fine plot, and innately human characters.

GALAXY ANGEL. =O
It comes in fifteen-minute shorts with little continuing plot, but it's so cute and funny it's hard to resist.
And of course, Sailor Moon has comedy, moreso if you watch the cheesy dub of the first two seasons.
I second the Keroro Gunso nomination, by the way. Excellent show. If you can't or don't want to download fansubs, pick up the manga by Tokyopop under the name Sgt. Frog. (as far as Tokyopop titles go, the translation on this one's pretty darn good.)

Well I do know of one that reminds me of ES but I've only seen the first episode.....I think its called Beating Angel Dokuro-Chan. Its very funny but it has tons of blood because the main girl is always killing the main guy with this spiked bat and then reviving him.....but from what I've seen it's very funny biggrin
