Appearance: Gion is extremely short for his race, and has short black hair and dusky skin. He has brown eyes and a warm smile, and he is almost always smiling. He has a very muscular body, which is the only indication that he is not the child he appears. Like all of his siblings, he has the Aldrich crest tattooed on his right shoulder (in black). Since he lives in the desert, he usually wears only a pair of thin pants, though in the evenings or on cooler days he may also don a light shirt.
History: Gion is the fifth child (fourth boy) of Serenity and Garrick Aldrich. He was born as normal as any other child in the family, and had a particular love of song. When he was six years old, his mother disappeared, and at seven his father was murdered and he and the rest of his siblings traveled to Tor Karad to live with their grandparents, the rulers of the kingdom. When his sister, Elnara, disappeared only a few short months later, he lost all capability of speech, and from then on could communicate only with sign language and air writing. He completed his studies as any other of his brothers, working especially hard in his physical training because of his apparently stunted growth. His dream was to travel. When his sister returned home when he was eighteen, he was ecstatic, and went on a journey with her and the neko Triton Winters to the plantation where he had been born. On their way out they explored the Old City, where Gion found a sword that had inside the soul of a man, Daemon Winters, and the two of them became fast friends. On their way back, they were attacked by Freebooters, and Gion discovered that Elnara was a shapeshifter. Unfortunately, someone else discovered this as well, and when they finally reached the castle once more, Elnara was forced to leave once more – this time permanently. Enraged and disgusted by his family’s attitude, Gion took Daemon and left for good. He traveled for many years, finally coming to stay on the plantation where he had been raised, where he fell in love with Nadya, the daughter of the overseers. They married, and now they are raising their own family in peace.

Appearance: Nadya is slightly below average height for a Southland elf, her face is often described as pixie-ish, and her hair falls in gentle ringlets, but besides that she is just like everyone else: her hair is black, her eyes soft brown, and her skin smooth and dusky. She’s very thin and slender. Due to her Second Sight, however, she often seems out of it.
History: She was born in the year 3434 of the Third Age and was named simply "Nadya": her family had no family name. When the war began in 3438 of the Third Age, she and the infant Elnara were brought by Serenity and Garrick to the castle in Chansond'eau for protection. After the war they returned home with their families to the plantation, where they grew up happy. Nadya remained an only child (due to an injury received by her mother during the war).
At around fourteen years of age, in 10 of the Fourth Age, she started having visions of things that were happening in other places, in other lands; of things in the past, and even at time, of things in the future. After Serenity's disappearance, she foresaw Garrick's murder, though she feared her power then and said nothing about it; and when it came to pass she became even more frightened.
During the time when the Aldrich children were sent to live with their grandparents in Tor Karad, Nadya learned more about her gift and slowly grew to have some mastery over it. She did not foresee Elnara's disappearance, but when Aranhil journeyed to the plantation to seek Nadya's help she was more than happy to do her best. For eleven years she tried to find Elnara using only her mind, and from her occasional glimpses of her friend she learned about Elnara's rape, her shapeshifting ability, and her transportation to Gaia.
When Elnara also discovered that she had a touch of the Gift, Nadya was occasionally able to communicate with her and was dismayed to discover that Elnara's memory - most likely due to the stresses of her life - was slowly slipping away. She did what she could on her own end to try to help Elnara, and it seemed to work: when Elnara eventually returned, her memory was whole (though Nadya suspected it was more due to Elnara's Gaian teacher rather than her).
Nadya was only twenty years old when she was given management of the plantation, and she has never failed to do her duties well. Despite the fact that Elnara has once again returned to Gaia, this time of choice and likely permanently, Nadya has hopes that one day her friend will return to take over the plantation which is rightfully hers.

His skin is slightly darker than usual, like his mother’s, but he has his father’s thin face. He usually dresses in light, thin clothes – billowing silk pants (or similar) and a sash belt.
History: Galdor is the eldest child of Gion and Nadya Aldrich. He was born on the plantation where he has grown up. [still too young to add more]

Appearance: Lothiriel is almost an exact image of her mother though her eyes are green like her grandmother’s (on her father’s side). She is very slim and graceful, and her raven hair falls in ringlets to her knees. Her skin, like her brother’s, is darker than average (like their mother’s). Also like her mother, she prefers a skirt or dress to wearing pants.
History: Lothiriel is the second child of Gion and Nadya Aldrich, and was born on the plantation where they live. Like her mother, she was born with the gift (or curse) of Second Sight, and there are times when it seems that it may end up being stronger than her mother’s. [too young for more yet]
