Location: In the Deep Woods, near the Brigadier's territory
Description: While Fletcher’s territory is in a surprisingly good location, within the centre of the Deep Woods, it's not exactly a highly-contested location. Actually, nobody in their right mind would want to live there at all. Her home is a lightning-blasted old tree, hollowed, collapsed upon itself, and burnt out – and completely in the open. The burnt husks of smaller trees surround the larger wooden corpse, creating an eerily open landscape which would be utterly terrifying to any right-minded Sentinel. Fletcher seems to like it just fine, as the open space makes it hard for anyone to sneak up on her.
New growth is slowly starting to peek through the ashes, but it will be several generations before the ravaged clearing is reclaimed by the forest of Noctua. Interestingly enough, while most Sentinels avoid the open spaces of Fletcher's territory the areas immediately surrounding it are a popular area for aspiring hunters! The steady passage of Mus in and out of the clearing makes for a prime hunting location, the perfect place to hone one's skills.
Resident(s): Fletcher, Catcher, Catcher's Army
Visitors: The Brigadier; Nobody else would brave the open expanse surrounding the lightning-blasted oak tree.

Player: Slander
Name: Unknown, goes by title
Nicknames: Fletcher, Spaz
Species: Sentinel of Noctua
Age: Older than she looks and acts
Hatch Date: June 2, ???
Type: Aberrant
Task: Watcher
Personality: As strange in the head as she is in her appearance, Fletcher has certainly earned the nickname ‘Spaz’ through year after year of effort. When she does actually open her beak to talk about herself (which she rarely does) it’s obvious that she was alive during the Great Clan Wars, and a little lot of the paranoia of those times clings to her still. She also has a somewhat disturbing compulsion to collect feathers – wing and tailfeathers in particular, a habit which is possibly a throwback to her imping/fletching* days – and will actually interrupt a conversation to go diving after a particularly good feather.
While so many Watchers fall into that role due to a simple lack of any particular talent, Fletcher is certainly not one of those sorts. She specifically chose this role after the end of the Wars, and remains close-beaked about her own involvement in that conflict. Perhaps the only other living Sentinel to know the extent of her involvement is The Brigadier. Even if he was the sort to gossip, he values the information she collects (although most of it is paranoid rubbish) too highly to betray her confidence.
She’s one of the most dedicated Watchers the Clan has ever known, and most others in the Clan think she's a little nuts because of it! Not much goes on that she doesn’t hear about and she can easily call anyone by name (no matter how far from the Deep Woods they reside). She makes a deliberate effort to attend every graduation, no matter how insignificant the Sentinel may be, and it’s even said that she’s spent time among the Mystics in their secluded retreat. It’s rumoured that she once was a Mystic herself, for that matter! These sorts of rumours, along with Fletcher’s information network, are probably why she’s not often called ‘Spaz’ to her face.
History: If you ask Fletcher about her past, she diverts the subject neatly onto another topic. If you press her, she'll find pressing business elsewhere. If you ask another Sentinel how long they‘ve known Fletcher, they’d probably wonder why you cared. And then they’d shrug their wings – everybody has always known Fletcher. She’s just sorta always been there, stealing feathers and watching. Always watching.
Territory: Fletcher’s territory is in a surprisingly good location, within the centre of the Deep Woods. It’s not terribly large, and it’s not terribly nice either. Actually, nobody in their right mind would want to live there at all. Her home is a lightning-blasted old tree, hollowed and burnt out – and completely in the open. The burnt husks of smaller trees surround the larger wooden corpse, creating an eerily open landscape which would be utterly terrifying to any right-minded Sentinel. Fletcher seems to like it just fine, as the open space makes it hard for anyone to sneak up on her.

Part II – Companions

Name: Catcher
Species: Mus
Age: Elder
Speech Ability: 5 – he does a lot of listening and a lot of talking.
Skill: Catcher is the boss – and progenitor – of Fletcher’s army of Mus Companions. Yes, that’s right. An army. He fathered, trained, and heads a staggeringly innumerable amount of Mus, all of whom are fiercely loyal to himself and Fletcher. Of course, the army is being consumed just as quickly as it is being created (the hazards of an edible workforce) but the information-gathering abilities of his descendants are near-legendary. Or at least they would be, if Fletcher were more inclined to share the secrets they impart to her.

* Imping is the process of repairing broken flight feathers, by using previously-moulted feathers and grafting them into the remains of the shaft. Since flight is such a precise process and the loss of a single feather can have a noticeable impact on flight ability, a skilled imper is invaluable. Once upon a time the term 'fletcher' may have been used in a different (if somewhat related) context, but 'fletching' is now taken to mean the same thing, so an imper is also a fletcher.

looked in the mirror,
I don't know who I am anymore
the face is familiar but the eyes,
the eyes give it all away..

here they come again, here they come again, here they come
again.. they're all out to get you, once again
they're all out to get you.. once again
