SOMEBODY SAAAAVE MEH!!! [lol, smallville]
Tomorrow, I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed.
I am so friggin nervous. I don't wanna, I don't wanna, I don't wanna, I don't wanna!
I hate dentists. Mainly because I used to have an amateur, careless dentist who scarred me for life. And she was the "best dentist" in the little fishing village where I lived.
And my dad's trying to give me nightmares. "I've heard of all these freaky cases where the anastesia wears off too soon, and nobody notices but the patient who lays there in agony..." gonk gonk
Oh, well. At least I'll get lots of ice-cream out of this entire ordeal.
So. Discuss. [wisdom teeth, wisdom teeth removal, dentistry, dentistry traumas, tell me it's all gonna be ok, say you'll be thinking of me,
anything else you wanna say, GO AHEAD AND SAY IT]

I'm supposed to get my wisdom teeth removed soon. D: Though i think my mom forgot. XD
I'm terrified. It's not just the dentists, it's the SHOTS for me. D:> I'm so terrified of shots. Especially in my MOUTH of all places. oxo I've only had to get one shot in my mouth before, when i had surgery, and it wasn't that bad, but it still scares the crap outta me.
Ugh, shots and dental work in general just make me wanna hurl.

I'm scared of the dentist, too. I think to some degree, everyone is. It's the shots that scare me, as well, because I really hate needles. But I also dislike the whole experience itself.
I think I got my wisdom teeth, but if I do, they don't hurt. On the bottom of my jaw I can reach my tongue to the end of my jaw and there's teeth there. Same on my top jaw, except where the ligaments are. So either they grew in painlessly, or I never received them. Either way, I'm good. smile
Your dad is lying to you. -.- I think they would notice if the novacain wore off. They would just give you a second shot, and that would be that. I sincerely doubt you'd feel any pain. The novacain they give you often lasts a couple of hours after you're done there - do you know why? Because they give you enough to make sure it won't wear off in the middle of it.
I know it's really freaky, but most dentists know what they're doing. The one you're going to should also know that you're frightened. If he or she doesn't seem to understand that, just stop him or her and explain it to them. As I said, a lot of people get scared, so it's probably commonplace for them to deal with.

I've been dreading getting my wisdom teeth removed forever... even though it'll be a long time now if I actually even need it done. I've had lots of dentist experiences in my life, though, so I'm not really afraid of the dentist anymore. I still don't like them messing around in my mouth, but I've gotten used to it. When I was little I had lots of cavities. One was really bad, and I had to sit in the dentist chair, all druged up for two hours while they put a cap on it. It really, really hurt when they pressed the cap down, too. stressed I've had a couple teeth pulled, also. But you'll be okay, I'm sure. Dentists aren't to scary. smile My dentist is really nice, he's funny. He always asks me if I'm married yet... but one time he was poking my teeth with that little sharp tool and it slid off and punched a hole in my gum gonk Heh, it didn't really hurt to bad. Anyway, that probably didn't help. But I'll be thinking of you... be braveeeeee!

its not that bad. not in my case...but in normal people's cases, you'll feel better by the next day. as long as the words "mm, we're going to have to break the bone" don't come out in the consoltation, its all good.

@Toxic: xD I wish my parents would forget. I actually don't really mind shots. This sounds really sick, but I actually prefer watching the needle go in. 'Course, I won't be able to watch it tomorrow.
@Chibi: Wanna trade mouths? wink jk.
Yeah, I think he was just trying to scare me, heh. He says there's this movie called "Awake" or something like that, where this lady is getting a surgery and she;s wide awake, but nobody ever notices. I've forbidden him to talk about it now, though. xd
@Spindra: That use to happen all thetime with my old dentist. Her hand would slip or she'd press too hard and it was always a very painful experience. My dentist now is actually pretty cool, but, thanks to my old dentist, I'm always nervous around dentists.
@Nickel: gonk I don't think they'll have to break my bone, because I saw the x-rays and stuff, but that sounds so...awful. DDD:

I've never had any teeth removed, but I've had plenty of work done in my mouth. The more work you've had, the less it hurts.

i agree with heart attack. it didn't hurt when i had two of my teeth removed. plus, i don't have a fear of dentists or needles and stuff like that. i was just upset that i couldn't eat my favorite junk foods for a few days. D: ahwell. good luck. i'll be thinking of you. C:
