Montgomery nestled up against Kiarra's side, his soft, almost continuous rumbling purr making a nice counterpoint to his smile as he leaned over to lick at her head, carefully straightening and tidying up the fur where she could not reach. He was somewhat confused by his own reactions, usually he did not spend too much time close to other B'alam, but Kiarra was just different than any other. As he groomed her fur, he pondered the situation, just letting his mind wonder. "Kiarra... I really have no idea what will happen in the future, but... well, I really like being with you. I'm not sure exactly what to say, but I just want you to know that you're so very special to me." He trailed off, not really able to convey in words the emotion of what he meant.

She looked over at him for a momment, simply to examine his features..To take it all in, from the playful gleam in his eye to the fluidity of his movements...Everything about him made her melt...Though, she dare not show it...should she? Her gaze moved from him to the seemingly endless and darkened sky; the stars sparkled and danced in Kiarras eyes. "I understand how confusing it is..." She began, her words were slow and sincere, "..I...I think of ways to try to explain how it is I feel..What it is I feel... But when even the most perfect words put together seem to insult the magnitude of what I'd like to convey" She looked over at him now, "It makes me bite my tongue in frustration..." Slowly, it began to sink in; She had begun falling for him. With a deep sigh, she contimplated the future...What would happen? What would happen to her, if anything happened to him? Could she let herself fall, take the fianal leap? She was a little disapointed in herself.. After years of painfully pushing others away for fear of hurt, here she sat in his shadow, her heart on her 'paw'. "The unknown terrifies me.." She added in a small voice, laying her body flat against the ground and resting her chin on her paws. She looked up at him, then at the running water as she continued, "Dark water... Complete darkness...even something as simple as Love..." Though she already knew, nothing was ever simple about Love. Her paws began to 'knead' the ground, rocking her head slightly back and forth.

Montgomery crossed his paws under his chin, lying down on his stomach beside Kiarra. He turned his head to look into her eyes from only inches away, his whiskers brushing the side of her face. Se he did, several things that had been murky slowly crystallized into perfect clarity. He did not want to ever be without this beautiful female, who had so quickly and easily captured his heart and mind. To do so would be like living without a part of himself, a future not to even be considered.
"Kiarra..." he tried again, slowly, "I think what I am really trying to say is that I never want to leave your side. I've just begun to realize that I think I am falling in love with you, Kiarra. You're the most wonderful female I have ever met, and I can not imagine myself with another."
He blushed slightly, although it was mostly hidden by his fur and the darkness, and he hoped that he had not screwed that up too badly. His eyes were open and loving, as he just looked into her eyes, opening his own soul to her.

She was floating. She tilted her head and pressed her forhead between his neck and shoulder, carressing the extra soft fur and finally running her tongue across his cheeks a few times. "...I Love you too.." She replied, almost relieved to say it outloud. Her toes were numb and her heart thumped wildly, she nestled her slender face onto his paws, lying down on her side and looking up at him in wonder. This handsome creature...Loved her. She was still in shock, replaying ever word in her mind before finally letting herself believe it. They were in love. Never again would she have to spend nights longing for another company. The momment was perfect...In silence, she watched the ripples of the night shining stars scatter, promising herself that she would never ever forget this very instant.

He could not believe it. Kiarra, that wonderful, beautiful female loved him too. He was awestruck, and just lay there for a long moment, unable to say a word. He felt her tongue brushing his fur, and in that moment he could not imagine anything more perfect, anywhere he would rather be for anything in the world.
"Oh Kiarra..." He nestled against her side a little closer, luxuriating in her warmth and closeness, caressing her face ever-so-gently with his padded paws. "You're so wonderful, I'm so happy!" He was almost babbling with joy, simply overcome that she would, of all males, love him. "I never want to leave your side, Kiarra. I love you so much." He licked her face and looked into her eyes again, just admiring her in every way.
