Mari Yaguchi joined Morning Musume in 1998 with Yasuda Kei and Ichii Sayaka(Second Generation Members). In 2000 Mari created and became the leader of Mini Moni (Young Morning in English). The group was made up if Ai Kago, Nozomi Tsuji, Mika Todd and later Ai Takahashi. In 2003 Mari left to join ZYX, Mika became the new leader until her graduation. In 2004 Morning Musume split into 2 groups, Sakura Gumi and Otome Gumi; Mari was part of Sakura Gumi with Yoshizawa Hitomi, Kago Ai, Takahashi Ai, Konno Asami,
Niigaki Risa and Kamei Eri, Abe Natsumi (Leader, until graduation) Mari took over after Abe Natsumi. In April of 2005, Mari suddenly quit Morning Musume due to a report in FRIDAY magazine, that she was with Oguri Shun. She said she had betrayed her position as an idol and sh wanted to move on with her career as an adult.
Since then Mari has stared in movies and shows like 'One Piece The Movie: Episode of Alabasta: The Desert Princess and the Pirates(2006)', 'Sentou no Musume!?(2006)', 'Gal Circle(2006)', 'Kanrui! Jikuu Times(2006)', 'MIDTOWN TV(2007)', 'Chao.TV(2007)' and '(Yaguchi Hitori Maru C(2004-)'.
