I was jusst wondering since all my fanfiction went to the novel section.
What if + original = fanfiction
FANFIC- original things= plot ( or something)
plot + other elements= new story
welll basically watching a certain anime I get a What if . If you take out the beyblade stuff and have just the idea
example:
fanfic:Mother is 16 which is Gou have his mother switched and Kai is silently lonely, work of evil people and the way to fight them will be by the inherited holy beast.
Minus the beyblade. Exchange Holy beast to power or other souls. change names. Gou and Kai will somehow have the same personality and Max has no child
Well this works for me
So is this such an original idea?

So what you're basically saying is that if you took a fanfic and took away all the things that linked it to the fandom it could be an original story?
Did I get that right?
If so, then you're technically right, however you'd have to be sooo careful because by coming up with the story originally linked to bey you'd already have the tendency to stray on the bad side of copyright just because of the mindset- if that makes sense.
I have a tendency to create AU fics anyways so my problem is with the characters. Mostly because any character I think of turns out to be a clone of Rei (in personality at least) because Rei always seems to turn out as the protagonist in my stories and it's hard to let go XD
