I really liked the "His Dark Materials" trilogy, The Amber Spyglass in particular. Although it isn't my favorite, I'm really glad The Golden Compass is being made into a movie. What are your thoughts on the books and upcoming movie?

I have read all the books and I think they are awesome. With the Movie coming out I am really excited, but I so hope they don't do a Eragon, as I like to call it. (A "Eragon" is when they make the movie way diffrent from the book)

Nope I read em all a few years back. I was re reading them recently, but had to stop at the last few pages of subtle knife...school came up >.> and I didnt take any with me to my dorm.
biggrin Although Amber spyglass was the most exciting of the 3, I had to vote for the Golden Compass, only because of what it made me feel. It was more about discovery, and I enjoyed that very much.

I LOVE this series, I read it ages ago though, I ca't believe how much they took out of the book in the film though!
Favorite of the three: ...parts of 1... and then parts of 2? whee Ok, the Amber Spyglass!!! Definitely. Which is odd, because usually i prefer the 'firsts' of all series.
