~Why Aren't the Sprinklers Working!~ Numbing, a sensation that was truly like any other that both the body and mind could experience something that was strangely calming yet frightening at the same time. The entire world was shadowed over with a thick quilt only blurs and distant sounds could penetrate through it. At times such sensations were bliss something that was prayed for instead of experiencing the taunts of pain. A shuddered breath escaped allowing the flow of life to once more start up like turning the key to start the engine of a car. Muscles rippled into life tightening and loosening the main organs functioning thousands of messages being sent to the brain that was sparking into existence. It took a few turns of the key but eventually it started up sending back a signal of movement. An index finger was the first to respond curling up to the palm before extending back out the rest slowly following in its pattern. Eye lids lifted up knocking off the crumbs of splintered wood of the HQ. Yet, the entire world was still engulfed in a black tarp not letting a shred of light through. With every inhale of air pain would erupt along the right side of her body instead of cursing the fate of an injury Mineshadow took it as a blessing for the pain meant she was still that of the living.
Memory slowly started to play itself out in her mind something about a fire….fire? Was it her house on fire? It couldn’t have been that was years ago that very place was still left in ruins as a reminder of the darkness that hid in the world. Yet, the memory of those faces couldn’t be held back as it flooded over everything else. The extreme heat of the flames was immense eating away at all the memories and history of the family a heartless element not caring about those that could still be living trapped within its hellish grip. But, it was those wide horrid fill eyes that bore down to the core of her mind the way they stared. Why wouldn’t they stop staring at her!? ‘Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaastly!’
Eyes busted open hearing the familiar call of a pokemon somewhere above her very position it was filled with worry and fear. The movement was slow but eventually Mineshadow managed to turn her head gazing upwards finding a wide uneven hole the flames whipping around with fury. Yet, there among all the danger and confusion was the Gastly staying loyal to the human it stood its ground not leaving her side. Hand fumbled around along the belt till it bumped into the cool surface of the flashlight. Every Ranger was given one upon joining in case of an emergency this was indeed a dire need of emergency. Pulling the heavy light out of its holster it came beaming on cutting through the darkness. Guiding by the light alone the ghost pokemon came hovering down through the hole to join its trainer in the dark depths of the basement.
“From ashes we shall rise again.” Mineshadow greeted the Gastly as it hovered by her side with a malice grin. Many times they have avoided the dark grip of death and today was no exception like that of a phoenix they shall rise up and conquer. The Ranger stood up using the knocked over file cabinets as leverage to stand that would explained the bruised rib cage falling on something like that it was mere lady luck that she didn’t break those ribs. Pulling down the torn jacket she inhaled a greater breath of sweet nectar of air that had yet to be consumed by the toxins. The time to relax and regain composer was over after all they had a sprinkler system to turn on though this wasn’t anything close to home it was the only thing Mineshadow has. This ranger wasn’t about to let it go up in flames she would rather die before seeing it fall in such a manner. Glancing back at the Gastly the two of them would share a grin, ‘Remind me to harass Gadd later for turning these damn things off. He’s mine you can harass his Kadabra.”
With a hollow laugh the two would start to explore through the basement with only the flashlight as their guide using the stations of the filing cabinets to make a map in her head. The more time they wasted trying to find their way the more the fire was spreading. Like the light at the end of the tunnel the door came into view the two darted over expecting to be able to walk right on through. Instead upon turning the handle nothing happened shaking it did no good the slow realization became clear it was locked. That’s right only the higher ups at the keys to unlock the door and her own was back up in the bedroom tucked away safely. Stepping back Mineshadow would bring her boot up slamming it beside the door jam trying to jar it open.
Instead of standing aside the Gastly whipped back into the basement in frantic search of something to insist in bursting the door open. It zoomed through cabinets and files for anything of use eventually coming to a stop as it spotted a clipboard upon the side of one of the filing cabinets. Right there tucked away on it was an ink pen one where you had to press down on the cap in order to activate the ink. With haste it traced its steps making its way back to the door finding its Master still fighting the door having gone from kicking to punching and body slamming anything to get it loose even a little, ‘Gastly!’
Taking a breather Mineshadow glanced back at the pokemon as it swiveled around in frantic obviously trying to grab her attention. The current method was never going to work on such an enforced door so reluctantly the ranger pulled away from the door and followed its partner. Nearly all the way to the end of the room where she spotted the exact same thing in which the ghost pokemon did. A smile crept upon her face as she pulled off the pen placing the flashlight beneath the armpit as she started to tare the pen apart. Who said that being a villain didn’t have it good parts? Being involved with such a group for an extended amount of time taught Mineshadow many things and unlocking things was one of them. Dropping the useless contents of the pen Mineshadow took only what she needed before returning to the door propping the flashlight on a near by cabinet pointing down at the lock. Ear pressed against the door she would start work with what she had slipping the two parts through the small opening.
The real technique in the skill was having calm and patience on your side other wise you would falter in every single step there was. Ignoring the crackling of the blaze and the intense heat that was still building up Mineshadow placed herself in a state of peace. Seconds turned into minutes then eventually to a solid ringing click followed by the slow creak of the door propping itself open. Instead of tossing the two utensils the ranger placed them within the pants pocket in case any other locked doors had to be open. Pushing the door fully open the small space was empty and strangely silent the flight of stairs in complete view. But, before moving on she made sure to snatch the flashlight before completely entering the hall placing a good pile of heavy files upon the floor to keep the door open. Some idiot might fall through that hole she had created at least leaving the door open gave them a chance to escape before falling to the fire. The light extended down one side of the hall before coming over to the next finding the electric box still intact. That was a great sign of relief walking up to it she banged the side of her fist upon the cover making it pop open revealing the contents. Examining it from top to bottom till she find the necessary switch she hooked back up the wires those many times fixing the vending machine gave her just enough knowledge to know what she was doing. Once having it hooked back up she would stand back a full arms length in case it happened to throw out a few sparks.
“One….two….three!’ the black switch was flipped on a few sparks flew out nearly catching hold of Mineshadow one did stung a few fingers of her hand. Shacking out the feeling it caused the two of them stood there waiting to see if anything happened. Only the fire alarm and constant fire crackle greeted the two of them for several minutes the patience completely run out replaced with a rage. Grabbing the end of the flashlight Mineshadow brought it up above her shoulders like a bat. The Gastly immediately ducked for cover not wanting to be caught in what was about to come which came fairly quickly with a rush of fury. The heavy end of the flash light made hard contact with the electric box bashing it in surely defiantly something that all mechanics would advise against. It took a total of five swings before the sprinkles suddenly jet on releasing what water was given to them. Like a heavy down pour the water came soaking things in minutes as it started the fight against the fire in all Mineshadow estimated that they were given at least fifteen to twenty more extra minutes to do what needed to be done. Dropping the broken flashlight she let the cloth be soaked up in the water before tying it back on the water would help a great deal better now signaling the Gastly to follow the two would start the slow ascend up the flight of stairs to return to the first floor of the base. During the climb Mineshadow would start planning and advising the Gastly how they were going to operate upon reaching the second floor of the building. There was much ground to cover in the base they would have to work quickly in order to save any lives trapped inside.

Neko Cap ((I just wanted to make a few notes. One is to Strawberry mist. Firstly you seem to be acting as if the HQ isn't on fire. Secondly the area with the Garados wasn't intended to be on fire but it could have spread there by now. I also apologize as I forgot to mention that due to the high temperatures most water Pokemon have migrated to deeper waters in the lakes. The majority of the fire is further from these area's. I'd also like to express a bit of confusion at the last two RPs. If you plan on continuing your RP please put a or something to that effect at the bottom of your post. That way it will be 100% clear and I won't accidentally meddle in someone else's RP.))((ok thanks Neko Cap. I'll fix my rp up a little better and post it again))

Gaddwick paced nervously in front of the HQ. The Sprinklers had started up but they weren't installed in some of the area's of the second floor. Luci had told him that Mineshadow had gone in but she was taking far too long. He would have to go in after her soon. He paced to the other side of the HQ. The fire in the northern forest was starting to calm on its own. A number of wild Pokemon must have made it upstream. They probably didn't need to worry about that area too much anymore. He turned back to the HQ. He would give her a few more minutes then he would have to go in after her.

Jack walked up to the edge of the moutain and saw almost the whole base on fire. "No...." he fell to his knees and started to cry. Riolu looked at Jack then took the Stylerball of his belt. Mudkip popped out following Riolu to the woods. Jack stood up and ran FAST up the moutain to see what he could do. As he pryed open the door he felt heat from behind him. "What?!" He reached for his belt....and all he felt was air. "Ugh Mudkip where are you?!" Just as he shouted that a water gun burst out of no where. "Ri ri riooolu!" he heard Riolu shout. About 10 mudkip plus his were using water gun against some of the fire.
"All right Riolu and mudkip!" Jack shouted.

~ Fire Rescue! ~ Thump….a sound created from the force of Mineshadow slamming against the hot wall beneath the window sucking in the small amount of air through the torn fabric. Nearly all the moisture went from its texture as she sat there slowly composing her. Fingers wiggling to keeping the numbness down to a low level as the blood trickled down both forearms it seemed the remains of window glass were just long enough to cause trickles. Not bothering to remove any of the glass in the fear of driving them in further from the brush off the ranger rose to her feet standing in yet another room clearly unoccupied. Ten minutes have gone by leaving perhaps a mere five minutes or less before the toxins would kick in and knock the ranger unconscious among the flames. Being careful with each step for a creak would rise up from the weight put down upon the weaken beams making the entire trip a possible death trap. Upon reaching the door she calmly turned the knob pushing it forward with no intended rush to it meeting with the densely thick hall of smoke and erupting flames.
With Gastly trailing close behind the two hastily proceeded through the rest of the hall mindful of each movement along the way. Several small explosions of glass shattering caught the attention of blood eyes finding the last part of the base before them, the lab. But it was the door that was the obstacle for the entire knob was now melted leaving the possible key unusable. Tossing the batch to the floor Mineshadow charged to the door only stop to twist her body around bringing the sole of her right foot up and about. Slamming it against the weak exterior right beside the door knob in a way the fire helped in the bringing down of the door. With such extent of flames it weakened the hinges and the wood allowing the mere force of a round house kick to bring it down with a single blow. Like something often seen in the movies the door was knocked back before tumbling over upon the ground with the various screws rolling along.
The instruments typical of that in lab work were found shattered and broken layering the floors and counters in an endless display of destruction. It was clearly seen that the heat was causing the chemicals to destroy the very containers in which they were held in. Making the entire room a bullet field of possible projectile weapons the main threat to that of the unprotected eyes. As if to prove such a theory upon the first step within the lab a glass tub off to the left shattered sending off small particles of glass in every direction. Staying in the lab was not the brightest of ideas so the look about would have to be a quick one. “Find a route out.”
The Gastly soared out of the lab leaving behind the ranger as it searched for a route in which she could take to the safety of the outside world. Meanwhile, Mineshadow cautiously walked between the aisles of the tables ever watchful of the still intact glass materials on either side. Mid way down a form appeared upon the ground just yards away sprawled out in an unconscious heap was the body of Junior. The toxins must’ve taken its tall upon him being trapped in an enclosed room it was a miracle the man was still alive. Something wasn’t right….
Upon closer inspection the entire grip of the situation closed in leaving no time to think only to act feet moving across weaken floor planks in a desperate dash. The flooring beneath Junior collapsing finally giving way to the fierceness of the flames down the pit hole the man went. At the same moment in an act of desperation Mineshadow threw herself across the gap between the two closing it quicker than on foot. Hands reaching out finding the thickness of a forearm grasping it firmly as if it was some rare jewel of the sea ceasing its movement downward to the first floor level. Some how managing to stay in place Mineshadow was locked in a confrontation with forces out of her control the fall down wouldn’t be deadly yet she didn’t know how steady the floor beneath was. Not, only that but the desk beneath them caused a problem that would cause serious injury or even death of either of them managed to fall to it where the ranger had control where she could go there wasn’t with Junior. The struggle of holding onto him was taking hold on her strength the torn fabric having come off during the tumble the toxic practically went on a field day with the body system.
Already, Mineshadow could feel the effects finding her vision becoming blurry as it went from unfocused to focus next was the strength leaving her body the forearm slipping leaving only the wrist and ankle within her hold now. Sweat rolled down her face as the flames drew closer to their position from all sides it was drawing in about to envelope them at any moment. If somehow she could move that desk or have someone catch him then the way out would be of no problem.
Gastly came gliding onto the first level of the floor it had taken a while but he had managed to find a route for its partner to take only to find that the plan was thrown out the window upon finding the pair above it dangling freely from the second floor. The struggle was apparent finding the constant shivers crawling each arm as the ranger was practically forcing the will to hold onto the man. For a moment the two made eye contact before a single word was uttered from his master, Gaddwick. On command the ghost pokemon faded out of the room bringing itself out of the chaos into the more calamity of outside. Shocked by the low number of rangers around to fight the fire because of the season and near holiday most were away visiting families. Yet, out of the few that were still around there was the single ranger. ‘Gaaastly gastly!”

Jack turned as a Ghastly beconed him inside. "Riolu bring Mudkip and to other to come with me." Riolu nodded and in seconds they were rushing up the stairs to their fellow ranger. Jack saw a door in the way and put his shoulder down to ram it. He slammed into it and bounced off. "Riolu Mega punch!" he shouted. Riolu punched the door in and flames jumped out. "s**t, Mudkips Water gun." They both complied and shot water into the fire. The flames died down and came back. "Keep it up!" "Riolu get some more water pokemon here!" Riolu nodded. He came back with about 5 squirtels.
They all used water gun on the fires. Jack put his hand over his mouth as the Ghastly raced in. Jack looked up and moved the table out of Junior's way. He stood underneath them ready to catch him. "Riolu take all the Pokemon upstairs and keep those flames away from Mineshadow and Junior!" he commanded. They all went up stairs and kept the flames away from them. "You can let him go when you want!" Jack shouted up bracing to catch Junior.

((OoC: Rakashi there are a few flaws in your post. First is you bent some rules. Your water Pokemon should have stayed protecting the forest. You also wouldn't be able to get any water Pokemon to help you at this time. Remember that the HQ is on a rocky hilltop. Even if you could manage to find help it would take quite a while to get there. Third problem is the water Pokemon wouldn't be able to reach Mineshadow. She herself had to go through 3 burning halls, crawl along a window ledge and move through a burning lab to get to Junior. Don't worry to much about it this time but try to pay more attention to details in the future.))
Returning from the depths of the HQ Gastly once again turned toward Gaddwick. He froze as his eyes again locked with the Pokemon's. He took a step back. The ghost Pokemon slowly advanced trying to get another trainer to help its master. But for every foot the ghost Pokemon advanced Gaddwick took another step back. This would have continued indefinitely if a icy breeze from the south-east hadn't broken the tension.
Gadd forcefully broke his eye contact with the Pokemon. He rushed to the pool without looking back and gathered his Snorlax and Porygon. He returned to the building with Gastly on his heels. He pulled the front of his uniform over his mouth and entered in through the door that Jack had smashed open. The flames on the lower level were dying down a little thanks to the fire sprinklers. He wished he had grabbed an extinguishers from the garage but it was too late to do that now. He pushed through what he could and tried to follow Jack's voice as best as he could.
Gadd pulled open a door using the long sleeves of his shirt to minimize the burning. He forced his way over to Jack. As much as he would have liked to allow Snorlax to be a safety trampoline the floor wouldn't be safe. The four of them would be fine but if you added a half ton Pokemon to the mix he wasn't so sure. He looked up to the two who had been trapped inside the longest. Mineshadow looked to be in terrible shape but at least she was still conscious. He pulled his shirt down so he could speak clearly. "The fire's getting worse. Get down and I can get us out of here." he yelled over the flames as he stretched his arms out ready to ease the fall of whoever needed the hand.

~ Fire Rescue! ~ The waves of sweat were making the layers of flesh slippery even now the grasp upon the wrist was weakening even greater with every second that flew on by. Instead of putting each second to waste Mineshadow spent them shifting her position trying to get a greater placement upon the bending floor boards. It was a mind bending process forcing every thread of muscle to work while fighting back the toxin at the same time. Blades of ache pierced through every tissue it could even the smallest movement would sent off a series of pains. Steadily the ranger was placing most of her wait upon that of the tail bone while the heels of each boot found a crevice in the floor to be used as leverage. Once it was all set in motion the grueling process of pulling begun it was slow at first and very unsteady after all she was dangling over the broken boards from her shoulders down. Splintered ends of hot wood left irregular red scratches on the back of each arm starting from the armpit down to the end of forearms.
Only when the pain got to its peak would Mineshadow come to a halt with body crashing back down upon the boards with a heavy thud once more finding her back in the previous position of the dangle. With every failed attempt more air would be sucked into the pair of lungs only to cause a bucket of heart pounding coughs that the body would force upon itself in attempt to remove the toxins. Such failed attempts would strive the ranger to try again after each failed attempt only causing more coughs and the now dozen slashes. A nice layer of red dripped down with the sweat blending into one before falling off crashing to either the unconscious man or the floor below.
Through the haze of smoke Mineshadow could barely make out the figures of pokemon risking themselves upon their behalf the small glimmer of hope was short live. There wasn’t a chance they could help at this point against such intensity of flames and the unstable floors. In truth they were now only risking their own lives for an impossible task of reaching them that was till voices started to raise out breaking pass the roar of flames one voice she was unsure of possibly one of the rookie rangers but the other was very recognizable, Gaddwick. Instead of one there was now three rangers beneath them that would be able to catch the unconscious Junior something that would be of great help seeing how he was nothing more than dead weight.
“Catch!” Mineshadow would yell down before letting go of the sweaty wrist eyes seemingly captivated as she watched the entire scenario take place. As if it was all slowed down for all to see seconds seemed more like minutes as the man free fall the gap to the arms of those below. The ranger would look on sighing a breath of relief only when the man was caught now having a chance of being brought outside to safety. A huge weight was lifted from her shoulders almost bring a wave of calmness to her soul before it was rudely interrupted by reality. A strange brightness was dancing across the sweat like an eerie reflection of what was to come. There just a mere yard away were flames that had completely enveloped the lab leaving only the small space she was now perched on free of all flames.
Through all the chaos of flames were the tables finding the legs sinking through the floor as if it had molded into quicksand a sign that was never good. The creaks could be heard even those of the first floor could hear it as if it was cheering on the flames waiting for the final destruction of HQ. Not even bothering to prepare for a jump Mineshadow simply rolled off the small plank of flooring. Like that of Junior the ranger went free falling out of the choices she would rather die by broken bones than that of flames. At first she had gone head first before managing to twist her body around spreading out her entire momentum of speed so that when the floor would finally meet Mineshadow the damage would be spread out.
Thankfully there were not one but two rangers that had been beneath her one of them still available to catch another so instead the coldness of sprinkled filled floor the assurance of arms was met instead. Even then the air was knocked out leaving the ranger to gasp for the air in order to keep conscious in complete disarray from head to toe. Patches of singed fabric every where along with some hair where the popping embers managed to burn that might’ve explained the bitter smell. Rangers jacket torn from one end to the other leaving it crooked making what blood that was coming down the arms to be soaked into the dark clothing of the blouse. Scratches upon both arms seemed more like she had gotten into some rampaging fight with a very upset Meowth for taking its shiny coin.
After a moment of sucking in a good fistful of air Mineshadow would gaze upwards discovering she was in the arms of Gaddwick even in her weaken state it couldn’t be help but feel some level of awkwardness. After all it wasn’t every day that you would see the two of them working together let alone close enough to even touch. A glossy look blanketed the usual cold blood eyes Gadd’s face becoming blurry the colors all melding together. The illusions kicking in from the toxins which would be followed by unconscious it was a long wait but it finally occurred. Before her head lightly slid against his chest the illusion would blanket reality.
The entire burning of the base replaced with a rigid cold night with embers replaced with big fat rain drops it carried on for miles such coldness it hurt so much it became numbing to the senses. A figure in black took the place of Gaddwick the deepest features of the face hidden beneath the shadow of the hat but what stood out the most was the red ‘R’ upon the shirt. It was the last thing to run past in Mineshadow’s mind before the sudden pass out in Gadd’s arms submitting to the toxins like that of Junior.Completed!

(Powers mean nothing if you don't use them correctly. If you take in the extent of the damage thus far your 'powers' could further the damage to a greater level. Yes, your character can 'move' the water and flames but really think about what you are saying. The fire is nearly in every room and floor if you would to 'move' those flames in truth all you would be doing is spreading them out. Unless you plan on tossing them down the mountain face to where innocent lives could be wondering or the forest where we would have another problem.
Then there's the power of 'moving' water. If you read over the posts again you would notice that I made sure to state in every one that the floor boards are 'weak' with how much flames are about you would have to dump a large amount of water in each area. But, that comes at a cost if you put too little it won't do any good yet if you put too much you could just cause the floors to collapse. Besides, you did make it unclear just how far your characters 'power' can go. For all we know your character could move nothing but a little candle flame around or a sparkle of water.)

((OoC: Gaddwick isn't aware of Jack's abilities. Plus the fire is pretty large and out of control. Your powers probably could not fully put out the fire on their own even though they would greatly help.))
Gaddwick stumbled as he caught Mineshadow. He nearly fell to the ground himself as his knees almost gave way. He looked down at her as she passed out. He grimaced for a moment. She was in terrible shape. It was amazing she had made it this far. He muttered to himself. "You idiot." He gently laid her down on the ground and called his Kadabra out of its pokeball. The floor above finally gave way just as Kadabra appeared a flash of light. "Get us out of here now. Teleport!" yelled Gadd as he gripped the shoulders of his fellow. Kadabra laid a finger on Junior and a bright flash of light filled the room. All the humans and many of the closer Pokemon vanished.
Gadd felt a little sick to his stomach as the group appeared outside. He was used to teleporting but the greater the mass teleported the more uncomfortable it was for everyone. He pitied Jack who was probably feeling twice as bad.
Gadd shook his head to clear his vision. They were outside on the south side of the building but everything was different. A thin coating of frost covered the ground. He looked up to the sky. A great Icy bird was coming in from the south. Gadd was in awe. Usually Articuno, who brought the holiday snowfall, came late at night and nearly a week later. It had no reason to be here now.
The great bird slowly glided overhead blanketing the forest with a heavy snowfall. Snowflakes melted in midair dousing the flames of the building. Luci came from the other side of the building followed by a number of townspeople. Now the citizens that the Rangers had sworn to protect did what they could to fight back the few remaining flames inside the building. Gaddwick himself knelt down on the ground out of breath.
Luci hurried over to the Rangers and tried to explain the situation to Gadd. From what he could understand, which wasn't much due to his condition, she had called an ambulance right after he went in. It would be arriving shortly. Gadd nodded with his eyes half closed. "Good work." He mumbled before slumping a little further. Luci could take over from there he didn't care he just wanted to rest.
