Bright orange reflected the light of the morning sun as a Kylandrei paced out of the thinning trees of the forest, his paws sinking into the soft tan sands near the softly rolling waves of the ocean. He paused and his green eyes stared out at the waves, blinking at the lights as his tail flicked behind him. His long green main fluttered around his head in a warm breeze around his large green horns directly above his eyes, and a black marking on his back right hip scowled like an angry face amid light yellow markins.
Lantirn sighed softly. He loved the ocean...it was so peaceful and beautiful. He wasn't one to prance around in the waves, but he did enjoy the slow almost musical sound of the waves and the feel of the hot warm sand under his paws. After several contemplative moments, he padded towards the wet shore, letting the salty water wash over his orange paws, which sunk into the sank.

Abunai looked 'round the seashore nervously. She hadn't been this far away from her territory... ever. However, Senkusha had wanted desperately to see the ocean, and Susamajii insisted that she go. She hadn't been around other kylan in years... she wondered if the stories about her were still circulating. Would the others flee in fear of her? Was she warm because of her nervousness, or was it just her dark fur in the warm sun? She looked behind her. The forest and her home seemed so far away. Senkusha, oblivious to her mother's worries, frolicked ahead of her. The water looked cool and inviting, though when she lapped at it tasted TERRIBLE! She splashed about, and found a small stream that poured into the ocean. "Mama, is this our river here? How come it's so small? Why's the water yucky?" Abunai could not keep up with her daughter. Senkusha saw another kylan, colored like the rising sun. She bolted over to him, water droplets flying everywhere. "Hi! Who are you?"

Lantirn had zooned out and hadn't noticed the other Kylan and her cub. He turned his head at the splashes, blinked and flicking his tail as he was splashed. His emerald gaze studied the small white and red cub, then glanced up at her mother a bit of a ways away. He had never heard any stories of her, and the blood did not startle him in the least. He came from a place where things that other people concidered 'frightening' were commonplace.
He then turned his attention back to the small cub and gave the slightest of smiles, just a quirck of the sides of his mouth. "I am Lantirn. And who may you be, small one?" He asked in a soft deep voice. The 'eyes' on his marking seemed to shift slightly to look at the girl, but then returned to normal, as if they had never moved at all, in fact, it would just be passed off as a trick of the light...perhaps that's all it was...

"Senk'sha- oof!" Senkusha replied as a small wave sent her tumbling. She watched the markings on his flanks ripple a little bit in the sun.
Abunai laid down near the water. Senkusha was talking with an adult kylan of an orange color. Alarmed, she quickly stood back up, sand falling from her fur, and trotted over to Senkusha and the stranger, in time to hear her daughter introduce her.
"-and my mom's over there. Her name's Abunai."
"Actually, dear, I'm not over there. I'm over here. Yes, I am Abunai. This is my daughter. Who are you?"

Lantirn lowered his head to make sure the young cub didn't get washed away with the waves going out, then looked up as he ear flicked and picked up the sound of her mother heading towards them. He lowered his head in a respectful bow, "Senkusha and Abunai, my name is Lantirn. It's a pleasure." He raised his head, "You may want to be careful, little one, there is an undertow if you go too far into the water. The waves can pull you out beyond where you can reach." He warned softly. "It's best to play in the shallow waves, and stay very close to the sands."

Senkusha looked up at him, wide-eyed. "Ok, Mr. Lantirn. Those big 'uns would knock me over, anyways!" She splashed about in the shallow water.
Abunai nodded at Lantirn. She approved of his concern for her cub, but said nothing. The warmth of the sun was beginning to feel rather comfortable.

Lantirn smiled, then stepped out of the waves and back onto the sand, padding a bit away and laying down, "Is this your cub's first time at the ocean?" He asked quietly, stretching out his from legs and yawning loudly before settling down, tail flipping and curling around his back legs. "She's a very cute little cub."

((Sensen's still a cub for the purpose of this RP. She's barely an adult anyways...)) "Mmhm," Abunai nodded. "We rarely leave our territory, but she really wanted to visit here. And thank you for the compliment. She favors her father, really."

((yeah, same with my other rp with Aaliyah))
The large male nodded, watching the cub in the water for a moment, "I come here once in a while, not very often. I like to watch the sun rise. I also like to look at the life left in the sands during low tide, all very interesting what creatures live in the sea." He said. He loved to study things and learn about them.
