has anyone seen this gun in action?
I though that they were running out of air.
at 48bps, it's pretty cool.
I've heard alot of people call the karnivor and the cocker the same thing.
I'm new to this gun, so what up?

I've handled multiple Karnivors and other types of Cockers.
A Karnivor is an Autococker marker, the Karnivor is just the name of a specific model of Autococker. The Autococker was made by Bud Orr of WGP and was a modifcation to his original marker called the Sniper which was a pump. Though the Karnivor was WGP's tournament grade flagship marker around 2004.
Autocockers are generally these days considered "out of date" by people, or atleast thats considered so in the tournament scene. Most people will say they are hard to maintain and fix but if you can grasp the concept of some easy skills and knowledge they can be fairly easy to maintain. Generally people today just want to pick up a marker and have it fire, no tuning or any of the fun stuff involved.
Autocockers can now be picked up at cheap prices, due to lack in popularity by the mainstream. Though there has been a bit up a pick up in prices recently due to Pump play becoming more popular.
Though also Autococker tend to be a " Love or Hate" type of marker, some people love them and some totally dislike them.

um... thats an ego....
Yes, Karnis are and were excellent markers. They are now considered out of date. I have to admit though, Karni's make HOT pumps...
Also, the video you were talking about, where the karnivore is shooting around 48bps isn't really that fast. the marker itself is going that fast and at that rate however the gun isn't fully cycling thus meaning an incomplete shot.

I mean to quote draxxus's post. and the clip I'm thinking of is at a field shooting paint, how is it not real?

yes, the clip is real. The problem is that the bolt isn't fully cycling. The gun may be firing at 48 BPS but since its not completely cycling then it doesn't really count. For instance, a G7 Fly can CYCLE at 32 CPS...
One cycle is the bolt moving all the way forward, firing a paintball, and retreating to allow another ball to drop back into the chamber. Then a new cycle begins.

-Team Apex- I guess they got eliminated by the blowbacks. they're still cool looking. Not eliminated by blowbacks, they got "eliminated" by electro-pnuematic markers. Don't get me wrong, there are some pretty decent blowback markers out there but they don't surpass a decent Autococker in my opinion. Hopefully with WGP selling the SR and they Jeff Orr Series Autocockers there will be a pick up in popularity for the Autococker. Though as of right now Snipers are really picking back up due to a great increased intreast in Pump play.

If the marker isn't chopping then yes, it should work fine.
