kekadu @ AuraLyn: Nice job! I love the draping of the garlands! biggrin Thanks. smile Archangel Lionheart last year I put up Christmas stockings in our shop(workspace) on the ship. My chiefs a built up bald Harley riding badass, and he told me that even though they (being the upper chain of command) were supposed to encourage us showing Christmas cheer, that if I showed anymore I'd get a jolly boot in the arse. Well late one night, I snuck up to the shop, covered the door with wrapping paper, add3ed a few red white and blue bows, then did some photoshop. Needless to say, he about choked me the next morning. As soon as I can get the picture to transfer without distortion, I'll psot it. What I did was put his face over a santa picture, hung a beard, added a hat, and rosied his cheeks. I added two elves (the two who made chief last year) and put "Spreading Christmas cheer, happy holidays." That's great. Sounds like something I would do, if my boss told me no decorating. rofl

Aura Lynn- I love the good work. I'm not sure who did the decorations at my work. Now that I'm working in a hotel we'll have to swap stories sometime. One of my coworkers got a call from a frantic guest that there was a bug in their room. Thus, my coworker Tom vanquished the horrendously scary bug (a lady bug).
I don't know about you but I'm scheduled to work chrismas xp The downside of working at a place that is always open.
Coming soon: my decorations. This thread inspired me, so I'm going to show some creative pictures I took of my mom's decorations.

Forgive the Large Picture Sizes-- sorry if they give anyone lag. M & J thinking "Now where is that boy? We told him to be back at the manager an hour ago!" Sorry it's not well focused, low lighting. Figurine in the manager. I focused in on his hand. Nothing terribly special, but the glow is nice Can you tell I have an obsession with Macro Photography? More glow I know it's been done before, but I -had- to try it, it was simply too cool of an effect -not- to do. I am a part of the Christmas spirit, what can I say? Mom has this hallmark decoration, it's Snowy man. More snowy man. Details of Snowy Man's Keys.

I am lazy. I don't like fiddling with so many things when decorating seasonally. I do like decorations. I am hoping that sometime I can create some decorations that are easily changed out by season and will be easy to store and use.
Seasonal fabric wall scrolls out of nice fabric is one thought I had.
We will be doing a tree, but with a new baby that will be the limit this year.

Bugs are usually the lest of my worries when it comes to complains...the most recent one was a "microwave that wont work" so I carried the employee one to the room in exchange for the non=working one....only to find out later that the man wasn't pressing the "cook time" button... And I'm working a 3-11pm shift on Christmas....yays for time and a half....

And I'm working a 3-11pm shift on Christmas....yays for time and a half.... I'm covering my fellow auditor's night shift Christmas eve, I get off work at 7:30am, I pretty much told my boss I would not do morning or evening because such would entail a swing or a double. Simply because with the night shift I will need sleep, and if I worked a double there'd be no time for church or family neutral You know we get silly complaints like that sometimes. My favorite is when a mob of teenagers stay there and whenever they walk past you get this GUILTY look in their eyes and act suspicious. xp Seriously, if you're going to drink underage or do anything illegal in your rooms don't give me cause to think it! My pain is when the net goes down at work-- they use Charter for the net service (arg!). Working the desk you need to be a repairperson, electrician, internet problem fixer, tech support, chef, navigational system (our guests consistently wind up 40 miles away...in Illinois), and translator. My favorite was having one phone with a cab company in one ear and another phone with a guest from India in the other, both talking at once.

Well, as I said, I have a couple pics. smile The glowing red ball in the first pic is a gift my paternal grandmother gave me years ago, before she died. I don't plan to ever get rid of it. surprised This first pic was taken without the flash: Second pic was taken with the flash because I didn't like how the first one came out: I've tried, but it's hard for me to get into the holiday spirit. surprised Sorry for the pics being a bit big. sweatdrop

Oh, and the new one has the division in elf outfits on another page next to it asking the big question: "Have you hugged your chief today?"
He's going to kill me...
