So I was thinking about writing a short story where YOU are the main character, and YOU have to do what the narrator says in the story.... Yes I know this might be odd at first, but there is one already out there. Let me tell you that it rocks, so I thought I would give it a try. I would really like your feed back.... Here is just a clip of what the story would feel like or be like.... the point is that, since you are the main character (as in I have put you in that characters shoes) you should feel it... Let me know what you think.....
You open your eyes to the sunlight peeking through your blinds, and you lift you arms in the air and stretch. Can if really be 9:30 AM already? You finally sluggishly get out of bed, but when your toes hit the cold floor you question your decision to leave this warmth of sleep when you know that there is a coat of white snow outside just waiting. A shiver runs through your body. You wiggle your toes and then slunk out of your room to the kitchen that now smells like cinnamon rolls. Your mom must be expecting something really great out of you today, but your thoughts are stuck on the sweet smells billowing from the oven. Your stomach grumbles in protest, and your hands automatically go straight to it. Surely they are done. Surely it is time to appease the pain in your tummy. The timer says one more minute, so you walk over to your cupboard and pull out your favorite blue-green mug. Your next stop is the fridge for a nice glass of milk that you know you will need to wash down those cinnamon rolls. Whatever your mom has planned for you will be well worth it, as long as you don't have to think about shoveling that snow right now.
Ok. Thanks! Vikki

So basically you want to write in 2nd person? I think it's an interesting idea. The only problem with it that I could think of is that it's hard to characterize every possible reader into one book. Different people would react to a situation in different ways, so only so many people could read the book and actually put themselves in those shoes.

The point is not allowing the reader to chose the action.... they have to follow your lead. It has worked, but it hard to do.

Hmm, I recall the series of 'Choose Your Own Adventures', when I was a kid.. they were fun, until a crucial moment when the character didn't act like me. It was intensely irritating, enough so that I gave up on them after only a book or two.
Then again, maybe it was because there were so many ways to die in those. rolleyes
