I'm curious about this art of divination, though I have a few questions.
The type of scrying I'd like to learn is crystal gazing, but I don't know how large the crystal should be, what type of crystal it should be, or even if it has to be a crystal and not glass... ^^;
Anyway, if any of you scry then could you let me know how you do it and what tool you use?

Though I have no experience in it myself (Even while having a crystal ball available), I believe, from what I have read, that scrying is the gazing into any reflective curved surface to allow your mind's eye to visualize. You don't necessarily need a ball for that, and my sources have said that even a piece of curved glass painted black on one side would be effective in scrying.
That's really all I know of this kind of divination (Not implying I have any more than the most basic knowledge of any divination), and I hope it helped in some small way. sweatdrop

Personaly I'm better with water and candle light with a bowl painted black on the bottom. But about crystal ball gazing I know some on that.
First: The ball can be ANY size, what ever your comfortable with 3nodding
Second: Supposidly, I'm not sure but the ball can be any type of stone (Amathist ((Sp?)), Peridot, Jet ect.) but it can be crystal but glass...i'm not sure of
Three: Really it depends on you. Theres alot of different scrying ways. Start with what ever you think is most comfortable for you.
And also, the bigger the ball is, the more exspensive it's going to bigger coast for it so keep that in mind in what your buying. But there are tons of different scryings like I said, it's good to find one after trying a few and getting comfortable with it

Ann Moura (Amouriel) has suggested that leaded crystal (glass, I believe), is acceptable. If water in a bowl can work, why not glass? rofl
Also, you don't even need a crystal ball for stone divination. You can use other shapes of stones.
I am looking to get an actual scrying mirror. Like, a black glass mirror. But those are rather expensive for a piece of glass. My boyfriend recently bought a glass crystal ball. Its about 3 inches in diameter, and it cost him $51. Take care about what you really want! ^,^;;
Most suggest setting the ball/stone into a nest of fabric to gaze into. Then you must relax and start looking into the ball. The rest you might want to, well, research. Instead of just asking without putting effort into finding out for yourself. rofl

When you're scrying with stones, the best way is to find one that speaks to you. Like I use obsidian, but other people use quartz or whatever. Also, you might find that stones dont work for you at all, it all depends on what you have a connection to.
