Roka took a deep breath and stood before the mirror in his walk-in closet. He looked ridiculous. But it was the most casual clothing he had - a pair of black pants lined with pockets and strung with a couple of chains, along with a fancy, bottle-green coat to hide his white dress-shirt beneath. He had no t-shirts of which to speak of. This one was embroidered with a simple pattern of various black spots at the hem and had never been worn before, as his parents had disapproved. But so long as he still had a tie of sorts, they imagined he looked presentable enough in public.
Anything if Roka had found an actual Class A friend of his own gender. They would't mind so long as their son was finally learning to come around and accept his masculinity. Perhaps an outing with the new Kusanagi fellow they had been hearing so much about in the past few weeks would cure Roka of his femininity. And, perhaps, cause him to forget his rebellious streak.
Of course it wasn't so much Roka's tounge that loosened to release Ryuu's name to the Toshiro household. Asumi had spoke of him first. Therefore, their parents were a bit skeptical about the topic. They weren't quite sure whether to believe their eldest daughter or not. She was, after all, a female and had been one of the first in their minds to corrupt Roka.
But when their son began to call someone called 'Kusanagi' on his cell and they had inquired into it....how delighted they were to find their boy had such taste in friends. Class A? They couldn't be more pleased. How often they had asked their son to invite him over, and perhaps his family too, for dinner. Each time Roka shook his head. He wouldn't allow his parents to analyze Ryuu or his family. But also, he didn't want them to learn of the Kusanagi family history. No, his parents would simply have to be patient. In time, though, they knew they'd meet him.
Now was that time. They waited patiently at the door as Roka stepped into the hallway, cell in hand with black sneakers on his feet. The silver-haired teen glanced down. They felt odd...strange. Softer than dress shoes, and comfortable, but...too casual. Like one might consider bunny slippers for an outing.
"Okasan...Otosan, can't you just...NOT hover there? It's embarressing! You never did before!"
"Well you never had friends over before, Roka-kun," Roka's mother chimed. She seemed the most delighted about the engagement, it seemed, for if anyone was worried for Roka's future, it was her. His lack of masculinity had been driving her off the edge and he knew it. She was the one who punished his sisters most severly when they were caught playing dress up.
He cast his eyes down at his new shoes to avoid glaring at her. "Arigato, Okasan, but you may just scare him off. Besides, he's not coming over; he's just coming to pick me up." I'm not letting you study him.
"Very well then. We'll just see you out. Isn't that what commoner parents do for their children?" his father asked, only to recieve a slap on the wrist from his wife. "What? I thought it was a good thing! We don't usually have the privilegde with how busy we are, darling."
"Never ever compare us to the lower class, Hiroto-san! What, do you want us to become like them? You'll curse us with that sort of talk..."
In went the ear pieces. Blah blah blah. You're insulting my friend, mother. The friend you're dying to meet so badly. Thank God he isn't here yet... Picking a song that Roka had heard Ryuu listening to a while back, he tried to imagine what the soccer player got out of it as he opened the door to get a good view of the street. He wondered how far Ryuu really lived from them. And if he truly did know how to drive. Where did he plan to take them today?
SLAM! He kicked the door shut in his parents' faces behind him. They weren't paying attention anymore anyway.
"Anikii! Ani, have fun! Remember not to get lost!" Seshiru's face peered out the window of their room.
Nijiko's soon appeared beside hers to shout an additional warning. "Yeah, and be careful! I heard there are bad people out there..."
"You should hold hands when crossing the street! That's what - mmph!" An abrupt but gentle hand came out of nowhere to silence the unthinkable words of the youngest child as the oldest appeared behind the two. Her free hand waved in a simple farewell and she smiled fondly. Roka smiled back. He knew Asumi was glad he had found someone else to spend time with. That was all she had hoped for him after they had transferred to Lobelia.
"Sayonara, you three. And behave. Listen to Asumi! Er, I mean...heed her words - um, hands..." He was never good at farewells. Waving, he walked out onto the lawn with his cell phone flipped open. He took one ear piece out.
"Kusanagi, where are you? Hurry up, my family is going insane."

Ryuuzaki yawned as he sat waiting for the light to turn green. Covering his mouth with the back of his hand also checking his watch. He was late. He sat in his 2008 Porsche Boxster RS 60 Spyder with an annoyed look on his face. He ran his hand through his black hair; his father happened to stay in town longer than he thought. He was dressed in a black long sleeved shirt, dark blue jeans, and black all star converse. There was a chain on his pants that connected to his wallet and he had a watch on his right wrist plus he wore a simple necklace with a small silver dragon pendant. The light finally turned green. Ryuuzaki applied pressure to the gas pedal and off he went.
His mother had been surprised when he told her he was going out with a friend. She was ecstatic to find out her son was finally making friends. He told her that he was going to be driving and picking his friend up. At first she was against it, but she couldn't really argue with Ryuuzaki. He was the stubborn one of the group. Which he had inherited from her. As for his sister, she was just happy he was finally getting out of the house not to play soccer, but to actually make new friends. Reiko knew how much he depended on her or was it the other way around? Her heart sunk when she had found out this new friend of her brother was calling him all the time asking for advice or just someone to talk to. Like she did when they lived back in Saitama.
Ryuuzaki finally stopped in front of a large mansion, roughly around the same size as his new home. He actually didn't live that far, but the traffic had slowed him down as well as the nonstop questions from his wonderful mother. He got out of the car clicking the button making the car beep twice notifying it was locked and the alarm was turned on. The black haired teenager began to walk towards the front door. He pulled out his cell phone and called Toshiro residence. In rang a couple times until someone picked it up, “Hello? It's Toshiro Roka there? It's Kusanagi Ryuuzaki speaking.”

(( Had this song stuck in her head towards the end of typing this post ))
A pair of dexterous hands, slender but with a surprisingly firm grip, appeared from behind and tightened on either of the newcomer's shoulders. Then one reached up, delicately plucked Ryuu's phone from his own fingers, and flipped it shut, hanging up on whoever may have answered.
"A word of advice, Baka-san," Roka murmured softly, speaking almost directly into his ear, "It would not be wise to go around hollering your last name in this community, whether or not you have care for your family's reputation. Here, it could mean death by my mother's critique. She would take you into the house and never let you out until she knew you better than she knows me. Understand?"
A hint of a smile crept into the tone of voice. "I've worked too hard to keep your profile secret enough, but that's only led her curiosity to be worse than ever. If she finds out the idiot on our front lawn dressed in less-than-fashionable commoner's clothing is the renowned Kusanagi Ryuuzaki, I'm sure I'll never see your stupid-looking face again. At school or elsewhere. Now...let's walk slowly back to your vehicle of transport and we'll make no sudden movements or loud sounds until - "
"Roka! Roka-kun, is that him? Is that your friend?" A voice shrieked gleefully from the window beside the front door. Thankfully the blinds were a little too close together to allow her a good look of the boys, or them a good look of her. Roka's father must have given up or gone to get the phone. He was nowhere in sight. "Oh, do bring him over here! I want to get a good look at him!"
Roka continued to guide Ryuu towards the drivers' seat of the car. His voice never wavered as it replied calmly back, "No mother. This isn't my friend. He's the driver, can't you tell? We're in a hurry, so I'll talk to you later."
"But Roka-kun!" His mother's voice almost reverted to its usual stern undertone. "You told me your friend would be picking you up. Has he not the grace to show up himself? Why should you be seen in such a silly-looking car and not him? I don't see anyone else..."
"It's called a Porsche. It's a special kind of car. Good bye, Okasan. I'll call you later." Turning to Ryuu, his dignified expression of passive boredom fell as he whispered urgently, hurrying to fasten himself shot-gun inside the Porsche. "Go! Go go go go go! Now! Before she changes her mind!"
There was a brilliance behind his emerald eyes; a sort of wild look of both panic and reckless adrenaline. It was only a barely discernable glow, but it was there. Though he didn't realize it at the moment, Roka was only just beginning to experience the rush Ryuuzaki had previously attempted once before to describe. And what was more - he was enjoying it.
