Before I say anyting let me apologize if I have put this in the wrong place.
Latley I've been rping more family oriented things and done more family things. Which to some might not be unusual but I keep having these maternal motherly feelings and almost like longings to have a have a family of my own. Is that odd? I mean, I just get this longing and like pull to have a husband and a happy little family. I don't know what it means or if I should even think about it. I know none of my friends are thinking about babies or wanting one, I know how much work they are, i've helped with babies, done the projects and the crying dolls, but it still isn't stopping these feelings of wanting a child.
Things I know people will ask about: I'm 17, I turn 18 next month Yes, I grew up in a happy family, no problems No I can't be pregnant I'm a virgin in every sense
Do you think this is a emotional thing I have to maybe deal with or maybe more a hormonal thing that's causing all these feelings?

It seems like soceity is trying to make it so that girls don't want to get married and have children. I noticed that even though it's okay to have casual sex, maternal feelings are discouraged. I don't think that's fair at all. I think it's natural because I think about having children sometimes. But be careful who you have them with and don't rush it.

This might be a little late to add to this but I get those feelings too. Especially since i've been in love and dating my boyfriend for two lovely years. We've talked about marriage & i'd like to wait till i'm about 24 or 25 to have kids.
So I don't know where I was going with this but that I sometimes feel that way myself. Maybe it wil be a more common thing again.

I'm pretty much in the same shoes as you. I am really longing to be a mother. I'm 17 but 18 in a few months. But I almost had it before he cheated stare ... Anyway atleast you know now there's other girls your age with the same feelings.

I've wanted to be a mom (like you wouldn't believe! sweatdrop ) since I was 19, and I'm almost 22 now. It's been really hard, but I'm holding out because I want to be financially stable before I have kids (I don't want to rely on family or social aid [welfare]). My current boyfriend and I agree on that, so we're going to pay off our debt and I'm going to work at my degree before we have kids.
If it happens then it happens, but we're trying to plan for it. As for getting married, we've loosely talked about it, but we'll probably wait until we've been dating for a year or two before we get engaged. It's nice now that I'm an adult and I'm at the age where I can get married and people won't look at me too funny. smile
So yeah, the feelings suck, and sometimes they ease up. I found, for example, that having a boyfriend and someone to be close to helped ease my maternal pangs a bit. So did filling up my life with things like school and extracurricular activities. I have a friend who has a 5 month old baby, and another friend (that friend's sister) who's due at the end of the month, and helping out with them from time to time has made things easier too.
