 Morpha snapped his jaws shut around the trashing rabbit a smug smile crossing the young males muzzle as he shook his head, snapping the dying creature's spine and silencing it once and for all. He dropped the rabbit and streched looking around bored. He missed Jadey and couldn't wait to see her again. She was sooo pretty and so kind.... He lost himself in a daydream for a moment before blinking and looking around. Why did this area of the woods seems so familar to him?

Akana walked about the river in front of her cave and looked about nervously. She had noticed the familiar scent of her long lost brother lingering recently and she always feared the worst. She walked away from the rivers edge and all those memories there trying to find some piece. Her fully grown sons were still such a hand full sometimes but she loved them so. She was happy that they all grew up without much sorrow, hate or loneliness.
She sighed and walked further away from the river into the old rabbit field. She laid down and closed her eyes for a rest and soaked up the warm sun.

A familar scent teased his nose making him blink as he looked around. He..that couldn't be...."Akana?" The words spilled from his muzzle before he could stop himself as he saw the familar and much loved blue figure enter the field well upwind of him. "AKANA!!" He bellowed happily as he took off running towards her, his kill forgotten.

Akana had drifted quickly asleep in the sun. It was so warm and comfy there in the tall grass. She began to dream of her children all pups again. Basalt, reol, cobalt, and frost all bounding through the field. They were calling her name...wait not them.. another familiar voice. It was the voice of Morpha! That lost little one from so long ago. It was deeper now and fuller. He must have grown. her dreams must have decided to give her a treat But..where was he. She didn't see him in the field of her dreams. "Akana!" she heard. Then the field of her dreams slowly disapated and she was about to curse her dreamland when as her heavy eyelids rose she saw him bounding towards her.
"Morpha!!" she yelled out. "Oh you sweet boy. My how you have grown"

He laughed happily nearly plowing into her in his excitement. He gently butted his head against her side nuzzling her shoulder and neck as he wiggled all over, his tail wagging like mad, even his mane seemed to be posesed waving around in the air. "It's really you! Oh Akana I have missed you so much. I was so worried about you after I left but I had to get back to them." Tears of joy and relief filled his bright purple eyes as he smiled at her.

Akana's heart seemed to be doing summersaults. She was so happy to see this young one. She had wondered how he had fared all this time and where he had gone. She always wondered whether he had been successful in finding his true family. She fell down to her side as he plowed into her and began nuzzling her. Akana smiled and then began to lick his head. She was soo happy. Her eyes sparkled as they looked upon morpha and she stood up to really give him a look over. He certainly had grown! He was now a young man and no longer the lost pup she had found.
"Did you make it back?! Did you find them Morpha?"

He smiled sitting beside her and leaning into her snuggles. " Yes I found them but it was wild! The night I left you, I ran into a passing Elder named Mael I think it was. And he could fly!! He flew me back to the clearing and there they were!" He chuckled " Not that it stayed that way long. Wander and Kimmie left when I grew up enough to take care of the others. Not that I minded. Then I met Jadey.." the way he said her name showed that prehaps the young male was a bit sweet on the girl in question.

Akana could not believe what he had said. A flying elder! How amazing. Young ones always seem to have so much adventure in their lives these days. Well adventure is better than violence right? She smiled and had a look of poor astonishment on her face that just wouldn't leave. She probably looked very old fashioned to not know about flying elders, but she never traveled much.
Then there was this Jadey. How he said her name. Young love she was sure of it. Oh how adorable she thought to herself. She wondered what this young lady was like.She couldn't help feeling slightly motherly, he did call her cave home for a night at least.
"Morpha that sounds so exciting! I must say i was so worried about you but now I see that i was just being too worrisome. Now tell me about this Jadey that you have been staying with."

"Oh! I'm not staying wiht her" he immedatly flushed fidgiting " we just run into each other a lot. I hunt for her since she is a bit clumsy." He chuckled knowing Jadey would protest if she ever heard him say that." She is beauitful and kinda and smart. " He sighed smitten.

Akana laughed softly and smiled. "Well I'm glad that you became a good hunter, no thanks to me." She laughed harder this time and stood up stretching her paws and waging her tail. Do you remember when i tried to teach you how to hunt?" She looked back to that day and sighed at how she had dived nose first into the dirt like a pup trying to teach morpha how to hunt rabbits.

He blushed more moaning " oh don't remind me momma." He chuckeld not even realizing the word that has slipped from his mouth. " Ya know I came back later and got that damn rabbit. I was sooo mad that i got kicked in the face infront of you." He grinned his tail wagging more.

Akana was momentarily shocked at the young ones use of momma. She never expected him to be able to use that word with her. They only spent such a short time together after all, and yet she loved it more than anything. Her shocked face became a soft as only a mothers can and smiled. "I bet you did get that rabbit." She laughed."I never was very good at hunting so I'm gladd that you were able to piece together a decent strategy from my poor example. It's also nice to hear that you are becoming a decent young dragonfly and hunting for your sweathe.."she puased and decided not to push that subject. Even though he had called her momma, that didn't give her the free reign to be nosey." ...your friends."
