Please tell me I'm not the only one to have some liking for that show, with all its cheeseyness. ninja
I like the story, I really do. It's ... cute. Ridiculously cute. I like how they have mini PSAs(public service announcements) in each song, I like how each story begins with a voiceover of a life lesson. Little kids should totally watch more shows like S.U.
It'd be cool to have Sonia and Manic make some sort of comeback, though I know it would never mesh in with everything else going on in the Sonicverse. >_<
Still ... what are your opinions on this cutesy 80s kids's show?

Also: How does S.U. compare to the other, more popular Sonic cartoons? I haven't seen much of those ones. Are they mostly kiddie shows, too?

I've watched Sonic Underground, though I did this after Sonic X and some video games. The characterization in that show and the new Sonic franchise (Sonic X, Sonic games, and such) don't really mix and I think that's why it dropped.
Sonic's made a big change. He went from being a wild child in S.U. to a lazy teen. It reminds me of this picture I saw on Deviantart. Here it is.
Knuckles is somewhat nicer in S.U. Way nicer. Not that that's a bad thing. It's just that in today's world, he comes off as very harsh and not very smart. When I first heard his voice in the series, I was like "Wow! Knuckles before puberty!"
Eggman is way more evil in the show. He doesn't even have a hint of kindness or good to him like he does later on.
I'm pretty sure Sonic Underground was an American-made show. Americans were the ones who supposedly adopted the name Dr. Robotnic. In the original context of Japan, it had always been Dr. Eggman. Now, the two are just mixed together. That's just a theory I heard though.
All in all, I thought the show was absolutely adorable. I loved it and I like to refer to it as... SONIC BABIES! Lol. xD You know... before they grew up. I just love Knuckles in it. He’s adorable. >w<

As an added note, I noticed that Sonya and Manic makes Sonic in name combination.

Sonic Underground was ok in my books, the music was ok, and the storyline was good. However in Underground I seriously missed the freedom fighters of the SATAM Series. (Sonic Saturday Morning). SATAM was the bomb of all Sonic cartoons. It told life of the characters in a more believable fasion. There are wins and loses on both sides. It was great. I'm sad that it ended. It would've probably went longer if not for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Anyways, I hope you don't have a problem with my opinion, but Sonic Underground was ok, Adventures of Sonic the hedgehog was iffy, Sonic X is not very good in my book, SATAM Sonic rocks. We can agree to disagree, I just don't want to be flamed.
