What....what am I doing here? Better yet, where exactly am I?
Micajah's mind bombarded him with questions as he strode through the shiny corridor, all around him the sounds of chatter and people's footsteps adding together to make a chorus of human music.
Perhaps he'd come here to people watch (a likely excuse) but it seemed more the of reason was he was trying to get somewhere else and ended up in this location. Until he had his full wits about wherever he was on this damned island, it seemed like Micajah would be doomed to be directionally challenged.
"Maybe I should just go into a store or something. Or at least find a chair..."

Jaden was currently perched on a bench, having said goodbye not too long ago to his friend Nathaniel. The two of them had met to hang out and grab a snack, but Nat had places to be, and that left the blond all by himself for the time being.
With a sigh, he leaned back and started to dig through his bag for his notebook. He'd found that journal-keeping could be a fun pastime, especially for a boy scared to go out and meet new people all the time. The odd-eyed blond teen happened to glance up and see Micajah wandering, and he frowned. He looked just as lost as Jaden had been the first time he'd stumbled in here.
Mustering his courage, he slipped to his feet to go and offer assistance. "Uhm...I say, are you lost?" He inquired, just loud enough to be heard above the hubbub of the crowd.

As another person called out to him using all too familiar words, Micajah couldn't help but chuckle inwardly. Perhaps this was going to be another good start....as soon he could could locate where the voice came from?
He scanned his eyes around the area to see if anyone nearby had been adressing him, and from what he could tell from the sound of the voice - male, young teen (perhaps 15 at most) - he narrowed down the list of applicants. All the choices finally fell down to a boy a little bit away from him, one that was standing and had a look on his face that seemed to indicate 'over here'.
"Ah...well....yes, actually."
Slowly making his way over while hoping that his selection had been correct, Micajah gave a soft smile.

Jaden blinked as the other boy came closer to him, and then smiled shyly, telling himself that this was ok, and was what he'd wanted, right? Just to help the other out? It wasn't like...well fine, so he had just initiated a conversation with a complete stranger, and he was nervous despite himself.
"Well...can I help you find someplace?" He offered softly, mismatched gaze peering at the other. Jaden was small for a boy of his age, and his pale complexion and large eyes gave him an almost ethereal sort of look, a tiny thing, seeming completely out of place in the hubbub of people.
Padding right up to the other, he had to look up at the other boy just a bit...however, he didn't find Micajah intimidating...in the same why he didn't find Nathaniel intimidating.

Micajah did his best to give the clearly nervous boy a smile that would reassure him at least a little, and as he asked a question the smile moved not only from his lips but to his eyes as well.
How cute.
"To be honest with you I was mostly just wandering around, I'm fairly new here, and was trying to get a good ground on the places of this area."
He didn't approach the boy fully, as though not to tower over him and perhaps make Jaden feel more uncomfortable, but he didn't keep a distance between them that would make it seem like they were talking to others inside of each other.
"I was thinking I would have to find a store in here to give myself initial bearings of my location...or find a chair and collapse into it out of frustration. I've never been good at directions, and now that I'm in an entirely new place it seems like I'm at a loss for what to do."

Jaden grinned at that, somehow feeling a little better, reassured by both the other boy's mannerisms, and the fact that he was newer than Jaden himself, and felt somewhat out of place. It was a feeling that the blond could sympathize with, for he'd become hopelessly lost more than once when he'd been a new student here.
"Well...is there anything in particular you might want to see? I've got at least a decent grasp of where everything is, and m'not too terrible at directions." He informed quietly, in the sort of matter-of-fact tone that doesn't try to lord knowledge over anyone else.

"Actually, do you know if there is a store here that would have sewing supplies? Or at least anything with arts and crafts foundations?"
Micajah had been running low on the purple thread he's brought from home in his sewing kit, and now that he was actually in the mall (or so he assumed by everything) he thought it would be a good time for him to try and get what he needed.
Who honestly knew when the next time would be that he came here on his own accord and in the right direction? He had to take advantage of this here and now...that is, if there even was a sewing shop or something.
"If you could even simply point me in the direction of where I might need to go it would be the greatest help yet. I really need to buy a GPS system for myself to aid me, or else take map making lessons."
Micajah smiled once more at Jaden after the boy had finished talking and he'd replied, and he wondered what was to come next.
