I really like watching this show called Bizarre Foods, the guy eats some crazy stuff!!
So my question to you guys is: What is the weirdest thing you have ever eaten or drank before? On accident or knowing what it was.
For me I have 2 stories about odd food.
First when I was about 6 my evil grandma offered me a cookie. I took one bit and started freaking out cause it tasted funny and spicey. Turns out my grandma had left the cookies out for a few days and ants had gotten inside the cream filling!!! Because it was at my evil grandma and she was the one to offer me the cookie I think she knew it was infested with ants and just wanted to be mean because she is that kind of person.
And the second incident with odd stuff was 2 years ago around Christmas. Me, my boyfriend and our good friend Fuzz were spending the night hanging out. We had smoked some pot and were watching TV when the boys got the idea to make some chocolate milk. Normally I don't drink much milk because it hurts my tummy but chocolate milk sounded really good right then. So I had them make me a glass too... So they made it and brought it back in to the room and I took a sip. I told the guys it tasted funny and they said it was probley just the brand of chocolate mix. Then the boys drank thiers and noticed it did taste funny. I mentioned that it tasted like egg nog and thats when our friend realized he had egg nog in the frigde so we went back to the kitchen and discovered the boys had in fact made chocolate egg nog!! It was soooo nasty tasting but its funny now that I look back on it.

Smoking pot?? tsktsk. XD kidding. I do too. maybe a litttle too much. ANYWAY:
yesh I have indulged in the few crazy foods since I am the one who is always being dared and then with a few (ok, a lot of) sips of dutch courage have been willing to do such dares.
But I have eaten one rather unusual thing sober, a baby octopus. Now, many have you, I'm sure eaten calamari. I ask you this, have these disgusting bits of fried octopus been shaped like the animal it's came from? Doubtful. No this baby octopus was caught and thrown into a boiling pot so it still had it's cute baby octopus shape. I thought it was cute, so at the buffet I picked one up and set it on the table. At the end of the delicious night, I randomly picked it up, closed my eyes and bit off a tentacle. I DO NOT recommend the boiled baby octopus. It was rubbery, chewy, and not delicious. No, I did not travel far for such an odd dish. I went right on down to the China Grill Buffet in my good old state of NJ.

talking about things eaten that you are un-aware of, not choosing to eat... Well since I’m a vegetarian people are always trying to feed me meat in sneaky ways. My ex-mother-in-law was the person who did this most. She got me once at a Christmas party by feeding me sour kraut. I asked her if there was any meat in it first and she swore that it was made meatless. I doubted it but I was so very hungry. Of course there was meat, and meat oils in there. I got hugely sick. Then once my cousin had me try some dip she made for a family party. It was crab dip. …sigh…. But lucky me I didn’t get ill from that one. And yeah, she knows I was vegetarian and that I do not eats crabs! My ex-mother-in-law was just evil, like Snow White Jinx's Grandma.
By the way, why would anyone start smoking pot knowing that it’s illegal? Never mind that it can be a depressant and is defiantly a de-motivator. Why is it fine to break that law? IMO smoking pot = stupid.

She would always bug me to try one but I couldn't because of the shape... I figured it it was still shaped like an octopus it would still have all of it's intestines and brain so I am glad to say I have never tried one and never will. Here is some gross info, my boyfriends sister used to eat pickeled pigs feet when they were young. And on the topic of sneaking certain food into other dishes of food my not so evil grandma likes to do that with some things. Like when she makes spaghetti or lasagna she chops up a bunch of onions and mushrooms and puts them in thier but then she'll tell me and my brother there are none because we don't like them. But it's pretty hard to mistake the taste and texture of those things when you hate them... I've learned to deal even though it makes me sick sometimes but my brother won't eat either of those meals anymore because he doesn't trust her.

(*secretly hopes her kids don't think she's evil ) sweatdrop I eat my veggies and she knows this, but she doesn't believe onions and mushrooms make me sick to my stomach, I think onions are one of her favorite foods(ew) and she loves to add onions to just about anything she makes so I've learned to eat them, but my stomach is never happy about it. And I personaly think the mushrooms just ruin the taste because I hate the texture they have and the way they taste. I heard about a recipe for home made Mararoni and Cheese that involves squash. Someone I know was watching the Food Network and saw someone make it, whatever show she was watching was having a special on how to make some dishes kids love using vegtables in order to get them to eat healthier without knowing it. Apparently the mac n' cheese tastes wonderful and kids don't realize whats in it because it tastes so good. The chef who made it aparently makes it all the time for her kids(and husband) and they have no clue.

XD I'm almost out of the house and I still hide my veggies under my napkin and feed it to the dog later. except carrots, potatoes, and corn of course.

Onions actully make me hurl, so i feel you on that one. Mushrooms.. yeah .. i don't really want to eat something that grows off poo, or dead stuff... ew, just...ew... My kids will eat just about every veggie i serve them, but don't like tomatoes. & I'm always trying to get them to just eat em anyway. 'cause they are good for you. Thats why I'm hoping they don't think im evil. (or crazy) I don't want to be crazy veggie lady... Squash in mac-n-cheese sounds interesting. I may look that one up. whee
