I was always wondering....
And hoping to ask people....
What is your idea of living? Like, why do you think your living?
The meaning of life?
PostPosted: Fri Nov 23, 2007 3:48 am

I can't tell you the meaning of life. There are laws against talking people that, plus there is no real words to explain it fully. It is one of those things you need to learn on your own.

As for why do I think I live. I lost a bet and living here on Earth as a mortal is my punishment for losing. Every now and again I feel them laughing at me and every time I almost die it tends to be one of them who sends me back. And to make things that much harder on me I still has some of my memories of what things was like before I was born into this world crying . This world sucks and I want to go home.

We're one of an infinite number of computer simulations IMO.

On a humorous note, the secret of life is 42. (Watch Hitch Hikers guide to the galaxy, to understand this joke)
On a more serious note, its to simply carry on your species by reproducing.
And on a more spiritual note, I say its to develop your personality.

oh. Thats very good way to say it

I feel the need to quote Douglas and say "42" but someone already has. xd

Instead, I shall quote a little Jordan: "We are all just threads in the patern." History is a woven tapestry, and our lives are the threads; each thread touches others here and there. Sometimes, when these threads touch, it changes their direction in the patern. I believe we are given a chance to make impressions on each others lives, leaving little fingerprints of experience that alter each other, be it for good or for evil. In that we, we are all immortal.

Philosophy. Ain't it silly? whee

You know remembering how it was when I was a sprite living outside of space and time. I have to say you humans come up with some of the odds ways to draw the line between good and evil. lol The funny thing is for the most part good and evil are the same thing and mostly up to the observer to judge his or her self. It is even more funny in the simple fact that I can do good things and have the end result be evil or do evil things and have the end result be good. rofl

Humans have so much to learn, but then again they are just babies. If the don't kill themselves first they may learn. blaugh

How many people are there in the world? That's how many answers there are to that question.

Well, I can't quote Adams and I'm not a philosopher, so Life is what it is. Life. Make of it what you will. But:
1. Enjoy the trip along the way.
2. Its one heck of a ride.
3. The ending might suck but the plots pretty good.

Life has no meaning. o_O To be perfectly honest, I don't think there's any point to being alive at all. The reason people live today is because nature gives us a natural tendency to avoid death and therefore increase out fitness (chances of reproducing), and because as humans, we're able to pursue happiness as long as we live (people who think they've lost that ability just commit suicide =/).

I've always agreed with Tarma's quote about threads. We immortalize ourselves by leaving our impressions on the world. You don't need to do it or anything, but it's sorta like evidence that we exist, and when we die it's there to remind people that we once existed.

So if you're one of those people who say, "I don't care about what other think of me," I would tell you there are a heck of a lot of reasons you should care...because the effect you have on others might show a big difference overtime.

o_o Are you looking down on humans? I used to think our race was pretty retarded for a while...but when I thought about it for a long time...my opinion kinda changed.

You can't look only at the ugly side of something and say it's all ugly. They say "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" which means that beauty is only something that is perceived, and not something that is.

Good and evil are perceived in the same way. You can't say something is definately good or evil, because that would be narrow minded and biased (since you'd be speaking based on your own culture and teachings). All you can do is perceive it as good or evil, and when you make your decision, you can't argue about it with someone who disagrees because what you're saying is bias (which isn't a necessarily a bad thing).

I wouldn't say I look down on them. Its more like I just miss being with my own kind and not having to follow the laws of times and space as you know them. And like I said being here at this time is my punishment for losing a bet. I've seen a number of other races and humans do have potential to be something more. But my memories of such things was locked away (mostly because the human body as it is now can't handle that much info and that humans most learn these things on their own for them to have any real meaning.) For as long as I'm trapped in this mortal shell I'm forced to live here, in this time and in this reality. Where I come from time really have no meaning, living outside of time you tend not to notice it or care about it. But being mortal my whole life is ran by time, and humans don't live that long but now I am one it seems so long. And even though most of my memories are locked away until after I die and return to being a spirit I do know my friends and I at last older than the Earth because I remember this universe from there was another star here in this spot before going nova and forming this sun.

I'm going to stop my complaining now. I'm homesick as enough is. Oh and the only time I look down on humans is in their stupidity. I'll never understand why humans well follow people who have not idea of what they are doing or worse put a person who is clueless about the subject in charge of making the rules and laws over it.

...I don't know how to comment on your first paragraph without saying something innapropriate or offensive. >__>...So I'll just say I believe you and be done with it.

But if you don't understand why idiots follow idiots, then you'll need to sit on a big rock, mold your legs so they cross each other for a few more hours and think about it...because apparently some people think that works. 3nodding But here's my opinion:

People who are weak and can't help themselves depend on leaders who are strong and can show them what it is they need to do. They need to feel a sense of order and safety, and they're not confident that they're own ability will suffice for the task of establishing those. Even if the leader they pick is a complete retard...they feel better having someone to guide them than being lost and having no one at all. There's no way to know how a leader will do once in power, so the people take their best guess. Sometimes they just guess a little wrong.

Btw, without followers, leaders wouldn't exist, so technically it's a really great thing that followers exist. =/ Otherwise we'd have disputes over power everywhere, no one would agree, and we'd have anarchy. Sounds fun right? =/
