The dream of life. This is a dream that is not mine. I am not meant to be here. I am a Cyn. A Cyn is a creature made of the sins of earth. I am not meant to love or to be loved. Yet I love an angel, and I do not fear the consequences of my foolish feelings. I am a capable being that loves a man, and I do not expect for anyone to understand.

She was only twelve years of age. She was old enough to know the ways of the Cyn. She wasn’t one of the best, but she was good. She was ready in waiting for her name to be called.
“Eve,” High Priestess called.
The cheers rang out. Eve was the first of her age to graduate the academy and move to the real world. Most of her kind never even graduate, she was lucky.
She pushed her hair behind her ear.
“You have shown great promise,” High Priestess said, “there for I have chosen you to go and attach yourself to Adam MacRoss.”
There were Os and Ahs from the crowd.
“The new generation begins with Adam and Eve!”
She was pulled by the feet, hard. Her clothes left her body as it changed. She fell through a tight tunnel. Her breath escaped her lungs. She fell, plummeting to her destination. She tried to scream, but nothing escaped her.
She was naked now. Her fangs gone. Her breasts now shrinking. Her waist tightened. Her hair grew longer and darker. Her eyes changed. She was turning human, and it hurt. The pain that she felt was blinding. She screamed, and heard herself scream. Her skin burned.
Then she hit the ground. Her entire body screamed in agony.
Then there was black.

Adam MacRoss ran to the alley where he heard the scream. He stepped lightly through the trash that littered the concrete ground. He moved closer to the body.
“Oh, God, tell me she is still alive,” he moved close to her. “And not raped.”
She was completely naked, and completely beautiful. Her skin was pale and shown with what little moon light that filled the alley. Her breasts, which he could not take his eyes off of, rose and fell with her steady breathing.
He reached out to touch her. The skin on his fingers burned with the contact of his flesh. She moaned.
“I have to get u out of here,” he said swallowing.
He took off his jacket and wrapped her in it, slowly lifting her up. He began to walk slowly to his apartment, careful not to catch unwanted stares.
He took out one of his work shirts and quickly dressed her. He carried her to his bed and sat down beside her, to watch. He knew he wasn’t supposed to take home strange people, but he felt sorry for her. What if she was raped and left to die? He would have saved her life.
What if she was a serial killer? He would have been dead by now.
What if she was a monster in discuses? Not possible, monsters don’t exist.
Or so he thought…


Eve woke to the smell of cologne, humidity, and beer. She felt better now. Her body didn’t ach from the fall. She stretched, feeling the pull of fabric. She got up and pulled off the garment, throwing it to the floor.
“Do you not have any female clothes?” she asked.
“No,” Adam said from the room next to hers. “So just wear that until…” his voice trailed off when she entered the room.
“My breasts are smaller,” she said, cupping them in her hands.
“Uh…” he dropped his coffee mug, it shattered on the floor.
Coffee spilled every where. His eyes widened.
“What? They are,” she turned sideways. “And my stomach is bigger too. Huh, I guess the changes were more sever in my case.”
“Changes? What changes?” he managed to voice.
“Well, we should probably be properly introduced,” she held out her hand, “I’m Eve.”
He swallowed hard, “I’m Adam.” He took her hand and shook it.
“Hmm, you seemed different in the stories, but, I expected as much,” she shrugged.
