Gallows didn't like anyone, or at least never thought he would. That didn't mean he couldn't like some of the things that happened to them, though, right? The thing was, misfortune hadn't occurred very much lately. At least, not enough. And because there was little of it to be seen, he was as well.
He should have been much more noticeable. Big, black, and hulking form prowled its way over the dense earth hardened and chilled by the upcoming winter. There was a sort of grace to the misshapen figure, however, a sort of flow with each moment that almost made him seem as if he were gliding from shadow to shadow beneath the trees that surrounded the HQ. One wouldn't even be able to spot him unless he shifted and hit an uneven place in the ground, flashing his white belly for a brief second. One bright green eye turned here and there, scoping the land lazily always.
He was eager to watch, not interact. And maybe he was in the mood to cause havoc too. No unfortunate soul was yet to appear to the night, however. And so Gallows was left to brood as he walked. It was a familiar thing to him. It happened a lot more often than something interesting did.

There was a creature out and about not far from Gallows that was less content to simply watch the day pass him by. A creature that was, except perhaps for fur patterns and the small matter of mental stability, not all that different from Gallows. Amuck trotted out from the trees opposite the black cat Trick to scatter some small, shiny objects on the path. They were, to all appearances, a set of jacks from a child's game... which they were. If one inspected them closely they would see that the points had meticulously sharpened.
Satisfied with his scattering of the small metal objects, Amuck then hopped back to the side of the path and started tossing handfuls of dead leaves into the walkway to cover up his little suprise. Indeed, he even took the time to trot up and down the side of the path for several yards in either direction to toss more dead leaves and make his special patch less noticable.
He paused to inspect his handywork from a safe spot, catching the flash from Gallows green eye in the process. He grinned at the other Trick in a slightly disconcerting way and crossed around his little road hazard to Gallows' side with a short burst of his bizarre hyena-squirrel laughter. He paused a few paces away to eye the other, and then turned his head to leer at his little booby trap. ".just a little mayheM ...was such a boring daY .could use a little spicing uP"

After a moment, the other Trick would be spotted and observed momentarily. It didn't take long for him to figure out what was going on, after all, being familiar with the method of tricks like an addict was types of candy. Clever. After all, it was the season for everything to die, and not uncommon for such things as dead leaves to be littering the path. Though, just as quickly as he might have appraised it, the scarred mutant was breaking it down in his mind. Why stop with jacks? And wasn't it going to be noticeable if the ground outside the path was untouched with leaves?
Nothing stayed nice and rounded in his mind- Amuck's handiwork really had nothing to do with it in the end. It was destined to fail in one way or another.
Suddenly, far too suddenly for his liking, the other Trick was right beside him, laughing bizarrely. It made his short black ears fold back somewhat, and the hair on his back to bristle some. However, Gallows kept himself composed. "If anyone happens to stumble over it." He offered, almost sighing it. He sincerely hoped it would work, even if it wasn't up to his standards. He hoped someone later was going to be crying while they plucked the sharp little things from the pads of their pads. "Anyone who sees you will be quick to flee. Are you planning to watch?"

Amuck quieted almost instantly at the mention of being spotted, rather unnervingly in fact. Previously his breath had been coming in short, amused pants, and he'd been all but shivering with glee. Now he'd gone from fidgety to stone. ".I will watcH .concealed, I am not so much a fool as thaT" He peered at the other for a moment. "...have a feelinG ?you do not approvE"
