Ok, I would just like to say this one rant. SO WHAT IF I READ ROMANCE!!!! It turns out that I have little friends in school that love to read Romance books, I'm like the only one. Everytime I walk around the campus I don't see one student holding a romance book, I see them holding books but none of Romance.
Now I have a friend on Gaia that has the same romance I like, so she's like my book buddy, but only on here. So I want to know.
Are you Too The Only One that Reads Romance Books In your School.

Well, when I was in grad school I had a roommate whose section of the apartment was filled with romances. I read a couple of them (loved Edith Wharton), but they weren't my cup of tea. I always got funny looks in high school more for the size of the fantasy novels I was dragging around to class.

There's a girl who sits next to me in one of my classes and just about every book that I see her reading is a romance novel. I'm running out of romances on my shelves. Oh no! surprised I need to go buy more books by Lynn Kurland!

In middle school I was almost the only one that read at all, and definitely the only one reading romances. Now it's a bit more common to see romance books floating around, but they're still exceedingly rare.

Yes. >3O
People at my school laugh whenever someone says 'sex'. I'd hate to see them read romance.

rofl When I was in high school I was always reading romances because I could get a bunch at a time from the public library and didn't have to worry about prequels and sequels (unlike the fantasy genre). My friends were always snatching up my books and reading the really smutty parts out loud. It was really funny until some of the other girls started reading some and they embarrassingly admitted they understood me more after being stuck in the same situation. I honestly didn't mind, but when one of the younger teacher's was in the room and hearing I read this stuff, my face would turn bright red.

Most people at a university campus would probably be embarrassed to be discovered reading romance novels. That's probably it.
