Okay, prepare for a little whining here....
Now... I just recently unlocked PUP, and I'd love to take it high soloing with WHM as sub....
Same goes for BRD, I would love to take it up, but....
...ugh, I can't even begin to express the utter hate I feel for leveling BLM and my extreme fear of leveling WHM.

My bf offered to level both WHM and BLM for me, but I feel it would be as bad as buying a character if I went and took up the offer... but it's just so tempting.
On the other hand, if I dont level WHM alone, how am I supposed to handle it while soloing?

Anyway, my point is, I lack any understanding for the job of BLM.
I died endlessly just getting the first 10 levels and I feel I will be the death to any party in the dunes... even more so as WHM!
I'm pondering just begging said bf to come around to pl, at least in the dunes, as to ensure I don't kill people v.v;

Has anyone else ever had such a frustration towards a job they're meant to level as sub?
If so, how did you overcome it.... any advice? =x
Thank you.

Yeah i'm pretty scared of Ninja lol. Mainly because I have no gil and I don't want pts to release how cheap/gimped I am lol. Unfortunately its got to be lvled some time soon D':

Whm is a pretty tricky job in the dunes but its made very very easy by having a PLer and tbh nowadays there are very few dunes pts (and even Qufim pts) that don't have a PL. Once whm gets access to Cure II and then Regen it all becomes a lot easier. Honestly it isn't something to worry about. Everyone is new to their jobs when they're playing in the dunes, just be prepared to take the advice of the people you're leveling with, they've probably got whm up to 37 at least already.
Just dia/paralyze the mob as it comes it, then plant Cure 1s on the tank trying to keep him just above yellow. If he drops to orange/red throw him a Cure II. Heal any blms or other mages who accidentally get hit as a priority.

Blm is absolutely not difficult 10-20 in exp pts at all. I understand that soloing can be tough, but its not the same thing. In dunes pts all you need to do is keep your spells up to date and wear whatever +INT gear you can find. Then cast Poison/Bio and Blind as the mob comes in, nuke it a few times, and then sit down to rest while the melee finish it off. I'd be very surprised if there was any SC/MBing going on at that lvl.

You can do it! /belief!

Thank you very much for the encouraging words ^__^
I've come to an agreement with my bf that he'll PL me as I level BLM and he levels Dancer as I do WHM, so he can give me advice and shout at me when I'm messing stuff up.
I doubt he'll really be able to hold out with leveling, since he's far more dedicated when playing than I am (and has more free time) but I hope it'll work out and I wont have to face such frustration again... until... of course... I want to level Melee's xD

I'm not really looking forward to ever having to do NIN, not just because of the money (and leveling PUP just to 19 has been taking quite a few of my resources) but because looking at the job, I am not interested in it.
I'd rather be a PLD, but I am generally scared of -any- job in which I am responsible for other people's deaths (pulling, tanking. healing, etc, etc :,D)

I'll try to keep your advice in mind, Thank you <3 And good luck with Nin =o I'm sure you'll do well.

As BLM please don't constantly nuke. crying
Last few parties I was in with BLM they kept getting hate because they constantly cast elemental magic.

Other than keep your spells up to date I have no other advice, as I hate playing BLM. Last two parties wanted me to main heal ><
(BLM 29)

WHM is easy. Look at the little box with health bars, cure whoever is in yellow, rest, cure, rest, continue... Once you get regen, cast regen on the tank, it'll make it so you can rest more often. When you reach level 25 you get raise! You'll probably be asked to raise a lot, if you aren't in a party I hope you do.

Weapon: Clubs for +MND. If you're a Galka maybe you should get a staff for +MP.

Armor: Any +MND and +MP is good. You don't really have to keep your armor up to date as you shouldn't be getting hit.

Macros: /ma "Cure"
use F# keys to target your party members.
(WHM 54)

Frustration, ninja ><
First I don't feel like getting fame for Utsumei, and I've died many many times just getting to level 9.
Also, as much as I like puppetmaster I can't afford attachments cry

I actually went through my first dunes party as BLM yesterday....only got to 13, but good enough, better than solo.
It was an interesting experience XD
We were a BLM/nothingyet , DNC/War, PLD/somethingIforgot(later War/somethingiforgot), SCH/WHM, SMN/WHM and BLM/WHM.
NO PL. XD
It was seriously... first no PL, then for 10 mins two PLs, then another for half an hour and then none again for the rest of the time :,D
I have to admit it is far less frustrating than I had thought it would be. I didn't draw much hate, once at most for a fight, but the tank could handle it.
The other BLM was overdoing it a little at the start but settled into a fairly fine rhytm pretty soon.

I'm honestly pondering taking it a little higher, even if only 20-30 now...
So, does it get harder or more challenging playing BLM later on?
Like, are skillchains more common then? *has horrible timing* <.<;

Which in turn would mean I could take WHM higher. And since I want to level that with my bf it would mean a lot to me getting that high => more time with him.
Plus a friend of mine would be starting soon and the higher my whm the better I could eventually help her out.
(and the AF is adorable
Oh yea, I am a Mithra by the way xD"
If that changes much what gear I would wear...
Is gear and such, spells and all, expensive by the way?
I saw Warp is already painfully high and my newest frustration caused by that is that I need to get Bastok fame somehow and have no idea how.

I can't express how lucky I feel about not having to level Nin yet :,D

Puppetmaster... yea T.T; I got it to 19 but I am too broke for the next head and frame...hence why I am retiring it for now to get whm up, since it'll be a good sub if I ever decide to level Bard again too.

OH and a new frustration for me, personally....
I am too weak to get the new jobs... like waaaaay too weak :,D
I'd love to be a seckseh dancer though... damn.

Don't play Cor most frustrating job.

must lvl WHM RDM and BRD NIN and RNG as sub depending on what i am doing
in Order to lvl WHm need to lvl blm in order to lvl Rdm need to lvl same for blm. good thing i have NIN and Ranger almost done

Must keep all cards.
Collect all the Elemental staffs for card uses.
collect every die
keep large quanties of bullets.
and if sub nin need shadow tools.

<.<

But i still love Cor

As far as BLM and WHM goes. Take WHM to 42 and BLM to 40. 55 if you feel insane enough. Doing that will get you access to the more widely used teleport spells. Mea, Holla, Dem, Yhoat, Altep, and Vahzl. Plus Recall.

This is make you lots of money. Bored? Telewhore for a bit.

As far as WHM or BLM gear goes. Don't get decked out in +1, but don't gimp out either.

I'd rather a BLM with spells and no armor, than a BLM with +1 armor and missing the last two elemental spells.

As far as WHM goes... MND early on, then once you max out Cure 2, move onto MP.

They say MND affects spells a lot, but that isn't until end game with Cure 5, Stoneskin, and Bar spells (When you enhancing skill is -80 below cap unless you spam protect a lot in besieged).

And as far as PUP goes. Be prepared to spend money in PUP upgrades and attachments. Its not a cheap job, nor is it a very party invited one.

Its up there with DNC in Imp parties, Thieves, and lolDRG.

Im new to this game but I started as a BLM and then a WHM, so maybe my advice might help xd I can only hope so.

Get all your spells first, Armor can wait. (its your spells they want you for, not your good looks or the latest +1 gear)
If you can then get INT as a blm or MND & INT as a whm
have your fooood, especially as whm, down time sucks. (ginger cookies are A.O.K! in my book and all you will need at lower lvls)
the first 10 levels of BLM suck, expect to die lots.
Watch out how often you cast a spell, you don't want unexpected hate if possible. take note early on how many spells it takes to get your hate and then keep under that! (also some spells get you uber hate fast so be aware of that)

as a whm, max your cure and buff magic if pos.

you can probarbly get to lvl 20-30 easy with party invites, after that your invites trickle to near ZERO... (as BLM) as whm expect A LOT of spam from people wanting free tele or raise or heals or buffs.
