RP: ... and growing??? Farland Jeremy patted around the ground and, only finding bloks, looked around for the baby lemur child... wich he seemed to be haveing probilums finding.. for now there were two of the giant lemurs! o-o''
" DNA can be obtained from almost anything. Peices of hait, skin, traces of blood, it dosnt take much... " Kimie Kitty Maddie stared at Madoc. Madoc blinked at Jeremy. Maddie blinked at Madoc. "MOMMYYYYY!!!" Kimie shrugged. "Well, yes, but the lemur part seems so unlikely to be a coincid--" And she was cut off by Maddie's yell. "What is it, Maddie?" she called out, not realizing at first what she saw... Madoc sat calmly, playing with the bear and the blocks. Maddie pointed at him frantically. "Mommyyyy!" Farland Jeremy cringed, and went to puthis hands to his ears, but still had the blon in hand, and ended up cracking himself right up-side the head wih a blue wooden block. stressed
Farland was listening intently to Kimie when the young girl yelled. Then yelled against and blinked, tiling her head twords the door before riseing, her wing tucking against her back and walked twords the door curiously. Kimie Kitty Kimie rushed out of Farland's office and knelt down by Maddie and the child who could only be... "Madoc??" Maddie crowded against Kimie, still pointing at her brother. "Maddie look at shiny glasses, look up, Madoc BIG!" she wailed, horribly confused. "Hum?" Madoc just looked at Maddie, nonplussed, wondering what all the fuss was about. Suddenly reminded of Evan's own transformations, and cries of, "Ev big! Ev big!" Kimie could only sit and shake her head. Good lord, Gaia was a weird place to live!Farland Farland " Oh my.. " She said, grinning wickedly as she looked at the intire scene... then realized it ewas glad this was technicaly a hospital.. by the looks of jeremy.. who was cur5rently slumped against a large stuffed tiger, snoozing after hitting himself with the block. Kimie Kitty Kimie barely spared a glance at Jeremy, too intent on this rather sudden change. Looking up, she said, "I'm sorry, Farland, I think we'd best get going.. You've certainly given me quite a bit to think about, and, well, it looks like Madoc here is going to need some larger clothing!" She pulled herself to her feet, trying not to trip over Maddie and held a hand out to Madoc, who stood without any trouble.

RP: The Catclaws Visit the Raikes-Layden Household Kimie Kitty Enter the Catclaws xd It was time to visit the Raikes-Layden family. Kimie had heard of Caleb's birth, and certainly they wouldn't mind a random visit.. right? Of course not! In any case, Kimie stood at the front door, Maddie and Madoc each on a hip, the newly-grown Evan at her side. "Knock knock!" Evan yelled, knocking on the door as well. Kimie rolled her eyes. Oh well, it worked. xd Amyla Edana Amyla gave Caleb one last pat on the back, sighing happily as he expelled a final burp without any accompanying flames. Finally... progress. She hated having to constantly buy new shirts and snip flaming strands of her hair. Even with her hair pulled up and out of the way, the boy nearly always managed to catch a strand or two on fire, talented thing as he was.
The infant perked up in her arms and flicked an ear, a gesture that normally heralded an imminent arrival that she couldn't hear. Usually it was Erin causing problems. Today, however, a knock on the door was the sound that Caleb's hearing picked up long before her poor ears did. What in the...
"Got it!" Aiodhan called, ambling his way toward the front door. Nearly there, he was bowled over by a green streak moving far too quickly to be humanly possible.
"I'll get it! It's Evan!" Kari shrieked at the top of her lungs, obviously recognizing her friend's voice on the other side of the door though Amyla heard nothing but a distant burble from the kitchen. The Ancient child fumbled a bit with the locks and then opened the door wide, obviously expecting to see her friend at roughly eye level.
She suffered a small shock when he wasn't.
"Kimie! Come on in! Welcome... Kari, don't do that!" Aiodhan sighed, picking himself up off the floor. Kimie Kitty Evan smirked down at Kari. Yup, "down." "Hi Kari!" he grinned, and patted her on the head. "I grew," he explained needlessly. Kimie snorted. Evan was hardly tall, but he had grown-- in more ways than one. "Hey there, Aiodhan. Happy New Year! Figured we'd stop by and see the new baby." The feline stood on tiptoe, trying to see over Aiodhan's shoulder. The two lemurlings fidgeted, wanting to be let down. Amyla Edana There were few things that truly annoyed Kari, but being looked down upon just happened to be one of them. "I'm not a little kid, y'know, and I can see that you grew," the Ancient child fumed, stalking away from the front door.
Aiodhan grinned. "Ahhh... somebody is finally putting on some height, eh?" he commented, reaching down to ruffle Evan's hair. He bent down just a bit to whisper. "If I were you, I'd catch up to her before she goes into full sulk-mode," he said, patting Evan on the head again and gesturing with his head toward the direction in which Kari had disappeared.
"Aiodhan, do I have to play mother and tell you to mind your manners?" Amyla yelled from the kitchen, her statement punctuated by a burble from Caleb.
The dragon-man cringed and gave Kimie a sheepish grin. "Come on in, Kimie. And Happy New Year to you too," he replied, curiously eyeing the lemurlings. Wait a second... when did Madoc get that big? "Evan isn't the only one who grew, is he?" he asked, gesturing for the woman and her offspring to come inside. Kimie Kitty "Hey, what?" Evan looked from Aiodhan to his mother, then to the retreating figure of Kari, highly confused. With a slightly panicky expression, he ran off after her. "Wait, Kari, I.." Kimie couldn't help but grin. Her son was growing up. Both of them were... "Ah yes, Madoc grew.. about a month ago, I suppose. Rather suddenly, of course." She followed the dragon-man into the house, setting Madoc and Maddie down as she did so. "Amyla~" she chirped, trotting into the kitchen, lemurlings trailing along behind. Amyla Edana "Stupid boys!" Kari sulked, heading straight out the back door and kicking snow across the back deck. "Not fair! Why don't I get to grow up yet?! I'm still just a kid, and I'm older than he is too!"
Aiodhan resisted the urge to smirk at Evan's predicament as he shut the front door. Poor kid. "Yeesh... they grow up fast, don't they?" he remarked, watching Madoc trail after his mother. "And I see a familiar face. I'm guessing Zam is hiding in some corner, Maddie," he chuckled at the female lemurling, ambling into the kitchen as he did.
Seated at the table, Erin gave the newcomers a curious look. What was this... more people to torture? The catgirl perked up considerably. Yes, more beings to toy with. Who should she begin with...?
Trying to pry her collar out of Caleb's mouth, Amyla spun around with a tired, though happy, grin for her friend. "Kimie! Where've you been lately?" she asked, shifting Caleb's weight and finally succeeding in getting Caleb to release his bite-hold on her collar. "Ugh... Caleb, you are absolutely incorrigible."
Though he didn't understand a word she said, the boy did get the gist of the attitude and now wore an expression that was annoyingly similar to Aiodhan's smirk. Kimie Kitty Evan stood at the back door, peering out into the yard. "Kari..? I'm sorry.. I was just teasing you..." He bit his lip. Maybe growing up wasn't so great. Certainly more complicated... Maddie perked up and starting looking in corners and under furniture. "Zam-kitty? Mrowrr? Maddie look! Pounce?" she babbled, dropping to hands and knees. Maddie was mostly good at walking, but crawling was still faster-- and less wobbly. Madoc kept upright, but peeked around Kimie's legs at Aiodhan. Giggling at her daughter's antics, Kimie gave Amyla a hug, eyeing the scorch-marks warily. "So he did inherit some of the dragon, then?" She grinned and poked Caleb's nose. "He does look incorrigible!" Amyla Edana "Yeah, yeah.... real funny!" Kari groused, idly scratching at one of her horn nubs. "'S not fair. I've been a kid for ages, and I wanna grow up too."
Aiodhan grinned in Maddie's direction and turned just in time to stop Erin from making a beeline for Madoc. "Whoa, Catty. Are you going to play nice?" he asked, getting a good hold on the back of the catgirl's shirt. Erin simply nodded and watched Madoc with wide eyes, tail waving lightly behind her.
"Erin gone?" Zam whispered, poking her purple head around the edge of the couch. She spotted the familiar face and trotted out. "Maddie! Make Maddie-noise, yes?" she asked, doing a feline imitation of the chitter-howl that made Aiodhan grin.
Amyla returned the hug as best she could around Caleb's squirming. "Just some of the dragon?" she said with an expression of utter exasperation, turning the boy just enough to Kimie could see his growing, fluttering wings. "Enough that he doesn't sleep, let's put it that way. Kimie, meet Caleb. Caleb... not my shirt!" she sighed, failing to notice that during the hug, the infant had fastened his gums about her collar again.
At the poke on his nose, Caleb blinked at Kimie and released his hold on the collar again, eyeing this person with his customary wariness. Who was she? She was not Mother, nor Father. Nor was she Erin or Kari or Nieva-Mother. That exhausted his limited knowledge of faces, and he scrunched his face up in an expression of bemusement. Kimie Kitty Evan made a face. He didn't like people poking fun at his height either. "I'm sorry, Kari.. I didn't think. And it's not like I meant to grow, it just happened!" He stepped outside, avoiding the worst of the snow and put a tentative hand on Kari's shoulder. "Don't be mad at me.. please?" "Who you?" Madoc demanded, his own striped tail waving. "Nice?" He glanced up at Aiodhan for more information. Maddie squeaked and jumped onto the couch. "Zam-kitty! Maddie noise, yes, mrrowrrooo-hoo!" She reached out to pat Zam on the head, chittering happily. Kimie's eyebrows raised as she inspected the distinctly draconic wings of the little baby. "Well hello there, Caleb. I'm Kimie, a friend of your mom and dad's," she explained matter-of-factly. She hid a smirk-- and she'd thought her kids were a handfull! Amyla Edana Kari sighed and scratched at her horn nubs. Ugh, it was too difficult to stay mad at Evan for long. "It's okay... not your fault. I'm not mad at you," she mumbled, examining her green toes. "I just wish I could grow up too. Nieva is bigger than me now too," she grumbled, pulling a face. She glanced up at her friend. "Did you get my letter?"
"Erin!" the little cat-girl said happily, purring in her eagerness to examine this new torture object.
Aiodhan sighed and reluctantly released his hold on Erin to let her take a toddling step closer to Madoc. "Nice. Not mean. Not doing things like pulling tails," he said, giving Erin a knowing look while the toddler attempted to look innocent.
Zam gave a rumbling purr and rubbed her head against Maddie's hand. "Maddie noise fun. Zam do it lots. Make Erin cry, yes," the lion cub replied with a feline smirk.
Caleb blinked once at Kimie and gave her a casual wave of the hand before moving to sneak his jaws back around his mother's collar. This time, Amyla caught him and stuck the pacifier in his mouth first. "Chew on that, Fuzzball," she chuckled, watching his expression go from a scowl to one of contentment at the rubbery surface to chew on. "I'm sort of dreading the day he learns how to crawl. He already has rolling over down to an art, and he is slowly working on sitting up. I'm shuddering to think what kind of mischief he'll get into," she remarked, trying to smooth down the boy's permanently tousled hair. "Anyway, how have things been going for you, other than Evan and Madoc sprouting?" she asked, trying to keep a wary ear out for the two younglings out the back door. Kari was not a violent child, but she did have ... talents... that liked to manifest at inopportune times. Kimie Kitty Evan nodded and offered Kari a hug. "I did get your letter! And the present. Mum didn't really want more pets, but since it was a gift..." He grinned. "Thanks a lot," he said honestly. "I meant to get you something, but uh.. I'm not too great at getting presents for people." Evan rubbed his hands on his arms. "Can we go back in now? It's cold!" "Air'nn," Madoc repeated, still a bit suspicious. "Not pull tail, kay?" He held his long stripy tail protectively. Maddie scritched Zam's ears happily. "Zam miss Maddie? Why make Erin cry? Fun noise!" She giggled. "Things have been going well. A bit hectic, but that's normal." Kimie rolled her eyes good-naturedly and made a face at Caleb. "I'd been meaning to stop by, actually, I found out some things about Maddie..." Amyla Edana Not one for physical affection, Kari returned the hug somewhat gingerly and then scooted a safe distance away. Ewww.... touchy-feely nonsense.... "She didn't like the pony-bug? We've got two of them hanging around the house. Serri likes to perch on my shoulder, and Uaithne thinks Caleb is a bed. And you're welcome... and it's okay. I'm not really good at getting presents for people either," the Ancient child shrugged, curious at Evan's sensitivity to the cold. "Cold? Oh.... right. Yeah, we better go inside," she muttered, heading toward the back door.
"Yah, Erin!" the cat-girl purred, eyeing the stripy tail with new interest. "'Kay. No pull tail," she agreed, then gave Madoc a bewildered look. "You?"
If Zam could have purred, she undoubtedly would have. Instead, she settled for something like a rumbling, growling noise of contentment. "Zam miss Maddie very much. Erin not like Zam noises. Zam not like Erin. Erin pull tail," the young lioness commented, leaning her head into the scritches and waving her tail about happily.
Amyla grinned at the face Kimie made in Caleb's direction, noting how unconcerned the boy was with his surroundings now that he had something to chew on. Little brat. "I hear you on that account. 'Hectic' is definitely a good word to describe it," she commented, shifting Caleb's weight a bit on her hip. "About Maddie? I was planning on stopping by the clinic later to talk to Farland, let her see Caleb and ask about Erin's mysterious appearance on our doorstep. Anyway, why don't we go take a seat so we can talk comfortably and keep on eye on the dem- I mean, delightful children," she said, grinning mischeviously and gesturing with her chin in the direction of the living room. Kimie Kitty Evan shrugged. "She said it was cute, but that our house was awfully full already. The pony-bug is really pretty though; I'm calling her Crocus." Suppressing a shiver, Evan gladly followed Kari back into the house. Even better, she wasn't mad at him anymore. -- "Mad'k" the lemurling replied, the second syllable of his name coming out as more of a click deep in his throat. "Airr'n kitty? Meow meow," Madoc added helpfully. Maddie hugged Zam around the neck, doing her own little version of a purr. "Maddie like Zam. Erin silly not to like noises!" She peeked over at Erin and eyed her warily. Imagine! Not like the Zam- and Maddie-noises! o.o Kimie nodded. "Delightful children indeed," she snickered, heading towards the living room. Sitting on a nice couch sounded wonderful-- maybe it wouldn't be full of Legos and blocks like the one at her house. "I stopped by to see Farland just the other day, for that very reason." Amyla Edana Kari grinned, completely bereft of repentance. "Ooops. You can tell your mum I'm sorry. I'm glad you like her," she said cheerfully, locking the back door behind them both. She eyed the activity going on in the house. Ugh.... crowds. "Want to go play upstairs? My Legos are up there, and there aren't any little babies upstairs."
"Mad'k," Erin repeated, her fluffy tail waving excitedly about. Nodding her head at Madoc's kitty-noises, she responded with a throaty purr of her own. "Yah... kitty. You not kitty," she commented rather obviously, eyeing Madoc's tail and ears. "Not dwag'n. Not doggy. Not birdie."
Zambarau managed a contented rumble around Maddie's hug and swished her deep purple tail about, eyes sparkling with mischief. "Zam like Maddie much too. Erin not silly. Erin stooooopid," she purred, exercising her new vocabulary word.
Hearing Zam's choice of words, Amyla raised an eyebrow at Aiodhan, who was sprawled on the (surprisingly) clean floor beside Erin and Madoc. She had a strong suspicion that Aiodhan was teaching their various offspring and pets a few rather unsavory words, that one being the least of her worries. "Yes, very delightful. Delightful enough to keep us from sleeping and- Caleb!" she sighed exasperatedly as the little boy's jaws closed about her collar. Did the torture ever end?
Ignoring Aiodhan's sniggers, she tossed Zambarau's toy mouse off the couch in the lioness' direction. Stupid furball was always leaving her toys on the furniture... ugh! Seating herself on the otherwise un-messy couch, she patted the cushion beside her with her free hand as an invitation, not even bothering to free her collar from Caleb's gums. "Take a good look. This is about as clean as this place gets. And what did Farland say about Maddie?" she asked curiously. Kimie Kitty "Legos sound great. Nice to be around someone who can actually talk, you know?" Little siblings were great. Really. But oh boy did Evan get tired of baby-talk. He peeked around and rolled his eyes at the crush of babies and parental units in the living room. Madoc nodded. "Not kitty. Mad'k leemrrr. Mommy is kitty though." He nodded again, not at all bothered by the discrepancy. Maddie was distracted by the sudden movement and pounced on the mousie. "Maddie get!" she shrieked, grabbing at the toy. "The toddlers, like Maddie and Erin, were.. experiments. She said she didn't know for what... but that somehow our DNA was used and combined with animal DNA. Which is pretty much like what they did for Madoc and Caleb, but.. I'm not entirely sure." Kimie sighed, trying to remember exactly what Farland had said. "I think she knows more than she told me, but then Madoc grew all of a sudden, out in the lobby, and well, there was some commotion." Amyla Edana "Excellent. Let's go before we get roped into babysitting." Kari's yellow eyes gleamed, and she delicately picked her way through the living room and made a scamper for the stairs. "Yeah, I know what you mean. Caleb just makes weird noises, and Erin talks like an idiot. Nieva acts so old and important, and all of the dragons 'n stuff don't know what it's like to be like... a person," she added as she ran up the stairs, tripping on about every other step or so. Damned big feet...
Erin was silent for a moment as she processed that, and then she perked up almost instantly. "Leeeeemrr. Mad'k leeeeeeemr, Erin kitty. Daddy dwag'n," she said, looking comically wise as she gestured at her odd-looking father. "Mad'k play?"
Zam stretched somewhat lazily and then went instantly to stalk-mode. "Zam get Maddie!" she declared, forequarters low to the ground as she crept forward, hindquarters held high in the air.
"Experiments? But.... well, I suppose that'd explain a lot," Amyla admitted rather ruefully, grinning as Caleb reluctantly released his hold on her collar. Ah ha... little devil did get bored of that after all. "I think I'll have to ask Farland as well next time I stop by. The fact that they're 'experiments' kind of bothers me. If they can make toddlers with these experiments, what else can they make?" she muttered. Giving another shrug and trying to banish the nagging worries from her mind, she couldn't help but grin at the thought of Madoc's growth spurt. "He just grew, eh? I'm sure that was a pleasant surprise." Kimie Kitty Evan scooted after Kari. "Yeah, Danica and Elenor are okay, but they usually hang out together, since they're all grown up and stuff." The halfling made a face, but wisely didn't comment on the clumsiness. "Know 'bout drag'n. Ev like drag'n. Mad'k like truck! Got a truck, Airr'n?" Madoc peered at the girl through his long lashes. "Play truck." Maddie squeaked and snatched at the mousie. "Zam get mousie, not Maddie!" She flung the toy across the room for the lioness to chase. Kimie giggled at Caleb. "I try not to think about it too much," she admitted. "It's much easier to accept her as a mysterious child than.. some sort of.. genetic experiment." Kimie shrugged, the tip of her feline tail twitching slightly. "Oh yes, it was definitely a surprise! He's big enough now he can't really wear Evan's old clothes, so I had to do a couple of emergency shopping trips." She grinned. "I've been in Gaia long enough, you'd think I'd be used to such magical growings, but they catch me every time!" Amyla Edana Kari rolled her eyes at the mention of grown-ups. "I just hate it when the big people treat me like I'm little," she muttered rather childishly as she managed to get up the stairs and scoot down the hallway to the room she shared with Erin... the floor of which was covered with Legos. She shrugged and gave a sheepish grin. "Yeah... I was building earlier and forgot to clean up," she said, gesturing to Evan to follow her in. "Don't tell Mum?"
"Ev?" Erin blinked and looked rather confused for a moment before remembering the big-person that had chased Kari. Ah yes... that must be Ev! "Truck? Hmmm... dunno. Got cars!" she said cheerfully, crawling over to the couch that Amyla and Kimie were seated on. Flattening herself down on her stomach, the little toddler squirmed her head and shoulders beneath the furniture, shoving a few matchbox-sized cars out from underneath. "Cars!"
Zam batted playfully at Maddie's tail. "Zam not hurt Maddie. Just play," the lioness purred, but the instant the mouse was flung, she went back into her stalking crouch. Crouching still for a moment, the cub then streaked across the room and pounced with both front paws on the mouse toy, pleased when it didn't flee from her pounce. "Got mousie!" she crowed triumphantly.
Amyla raised an eyebrow as Erin disappeared beneath the couch. "I won't ask," she muttered, ignoring Caleb's cheerful squeal at his sister's behavior. Why did she have such odd offspring? "That's a good idea... not thinking of them as 'experiments.' Just a bit too creepy for my liking."
Sensing he was being giggled at, Caleb turned his head in Kimie's direction and gave her the largest and most Aiodhan-like grin he knew how to give, making Amyla sigh. "Oiii... I think I'll go crazy if Caleb pulls a stunt like that. I don't think I'll ever get used to my miscreants just growing all of a sudden. Kari was shocking enough, but... ugh, it'll be interesting." She glanced curiously in Madoc's direction. "He is a lot bigger than I remember. Has he been getting into any lemur-like mischief?" Kimie Kitty Evan wrinkled his nose. "Oh, I know how that is... Wow." He stared around the room. "You have a TON of Legos! I don't have nearly that many," he said, impressed. "Of course I won't tell!" He grinned and flopped down on the floor, careful not to sit on any of the little blocks. "Cars good," Madoc agreed, watching Erin crawl under the couch and return with the aforementioned toys. "Vroom!" He picked out a blue sedan-type car and ran it back and forth on the rug, muttering "Vroom! Vroom!" under his breath. Maddie flicked her tail for Zam to chase and giggled madly as the lioness went tearing after the mouse. "Yay Zam!" she cheered, on the verge of breaking out with her lemur-calls. Kimie waggled her eyebrows at Caleb. "It is a bit creepy. But ah well. I wouldn't change it if I could, you know. She's such a sweet kid; it doesn't really matter where she came from." Besides, Kimie knew, there were much weirder ways to come into being in Gaia. Nanda had been an odd plushie, Danica was a bouncing blob... She followed Amyla's gaze and snickered. "Oh yes. He and Maddie both are quite a handful. She's more shy around people, except for Zam, it seems, but he's definitely a social butterfly. At least they don't have swords." Kimie made a face, remembering Evan and his wooden sword... and whacking Maddie with it. Amyla Edana Kari tried not to look too pleased by his reaction. "I do a lot of building 'n stuff, so Mum and Dad got me most of these for Christmas. I think they'd rather me build with Legos than play with other stuff," she replied, managing to seat herself in an area relatively clear of Legos. "What should we build?"
"Vroooom!" Erin agreed heartily, though her version of the sound was made stranger by her purring talent. Squirming backward, the toddler managed to extricate herself from beneath the couch, and then she plucked a car from the pile and began racing it along the floor. "Like Mummy's car."
Picking up the toy mouse in her mouth, Zam sauntered back over to Maddie, head held high as if on parade. "Tham ge' mouffie," she muttered proudly around her full mouth. "Matthie ge' mouffie now?"
Wrinkling up his nose, Caleb made a comical sort of face at Kimie and then settled happily against his mother's chest. So strange, the big people were.
"Mmmm... good point. I don't think I'd change Erin all that much. Her oddities add so much color and activity to the house," Amyla chuckled ruefully, shifting Caleb's weight a bit on her lap. "Same with this little furball." She saw the face Kimie made at the mention of swords, and her eyes took on a wicked gleam. "Swords? I'm guessing that was Evan in his Peter Pan stage. Aiod and I have been pretty careful about what we let Erin get her hands on; she is just too enthusiastic about playing with things.... like fire." She shuddered at the memory. "She usually is pretty accepting of new people. She likes Madoc, anyway. Caleb, though... well... I don't know how social he'll be." Kimie Kitty "Hmmm..." Evan eyed the rather extensive collection of Legos. "Do you have any of the special kits? Star Wars and stuff? Or do you want to make something from scratch, like our pirate ship?" He grinned and plopped down across from Kari. Still "vroom"ing, Madoc pushed the car around the floor for a bit, then bumped it into Erin's. "Honk honk!" The little lemurling giggled cheerfully, pleased with this new game and friend (?) Maddie nodded her head, little pigtails bobbing up and down. "Yeh, get mousie!" She patted Zam's head to congratulate her, then crouched down, ready to pounce at the mousie. "'Color and activity,'" Kimie snerked. "That's one way of putting it!" She cast an amused look at her offspring on the floor, jumping around and making noise as they were. She continued, "Fortunately the Peter Pan phase seems to have come to an end, although he does seem to have a fondness for fighting 'pirates.' I do wonder if sometimes he wants to dash off and discover Neverland..." Kimie shrugged. "The current craze is dragons." She made a face in Aiodhan's direction. [Click here for more.]

RP: A Trip to the Clinic Mintaka Mintaka headed up to the doors of the clinic, trying her best to keep the wriggling bundle of joy in her arms form completely managing to escape. She'd managed to at least not have a tail in the form of Sandrien, convincing people she could handle thigns perfectly fine alone ... well, as alone as one could get with a giggly, writhing baby. She managed to get the door open, Alnilam bubbling away a bit, and she brethed a sigh fo relief, having made it all in one piece. She plopped down in a chair, shifting Alnilam to a more comfortable position. "You behave yourself," she said quietly, though smiling. He stared with wide, expressive eyes a moment before a slight yawn and settling down a little. Just ebfore anotehr wiggle fit. Apparently a lag of legs may actually be a worse thing as the kid already knew very well how to wiggle that lower half to more effect then two little legs cuold. Least in her opinion this was true. ninja Kimie Kitty With a crash, the doors of Farland's clinic opened, framing the figure of what appeared to be a mass of fluffy ears, tails, and wiggling limbs. In reality, Kimie Catclaw had arrived, towing a lemurling on each hip. Madoc was in fine form, excited to be out of the house able to wreak havoc have fun. His sister was more reserved, clinging to her mother with her long striped tail wrapped around her waist. Kimie let Madoc down as soon as the doors closed, and the little boy was off like a shot, babbling to himself and searching for toys. The red-headed woman gave Mintaka a weary and amused look. "Min!" she exclaimed. "I didn't know you'd had the baby already!" She flopped into a chair next to her, settling Maddie on her lap. Mintaka Min perked, fox ears flicking a few times at the commotion. Alnilam was then sparked into more fussing, wriggling about and flailing his arms trying to grab soemthing, and managed to hook onto one of Min's necklaces. he settled on chewing on it then, keeping Min slightly hunched over. "Kimie!" she managed, trying not to move suddenly. "Yes, yes, not too long ago actually... a relief I must say... although you have no diea how difficult it is to rig diapers for a half-snake boy." She grinned slightly, watching the chaos Madoc run amok. "How've you been?" Kimie Kitty Feline tail swishing slightly, Kimie leaned around Maddie to get a better look at Alnilam. She laughed. "It's true, I'd never even thought how diapers on a snake would work." Maddie squeaked a protest, wanting to see the baby. She moved forward to put her hands on Mintaka's knees, ears perked forward, tail twitching. The little lemur girl paused only a few inches from Alnilam's face, inspecting him carefully. Kimie giggled at the sight, bracing Maddie's back so she wouldn't lose her balance and fall. "Well, congratulations. I've been alright, mostly. Busy with these two--" She jerked her head in the direction of Madoc who had found some blocks and was busily banging them together. "--And of course Evan. I was recently offered a teaching position, so I may accept that." Mintaka The movement didn't go unnoiced and he released his grip on the necklace, rolling a bit to focus his grey eyes right on Maddie, staring back rather intently. O.O Mintaka used the opportnity to striaghten up then, tucking a few necklaces under the shirt for safety's sake. "Ah, teaching is a good thing," she said. "Hands full indeed, I've got Alnilam here now, and I also have a few other charges. Busy busy... and keeping things in order elsehwere..." He exhaled and clsoed her eyes. "Business stuff is the work of ebil, I tell you. I don't know why I ever got into it." She grinned rogueishly then. "Evan been good? These two seem perfectly fine." She let ehr eyes drift a moment over to Madoc. "Aln's still exploring and adjusting to the world." She adjusted him slightly in the wrap she'd put him in, since he was slipping free again. Kimie Kitty Maddie sniffed at Alnilam's face, obviously intrigued by the markings around his eyes. So far she hadn't even noticed his snakey bottom half. Shifting her gaze to Mintaka, Maddie pointed and said rather clearly, "What is?" "Maddie, it's not polite to point," Kimie said, rolling her eyes apologetically. "Evan..." The woman sighed, thinking of her elder son. "He's been moody and cross lately. Hormones, I think, which are to be expected, but it's still hard to deal with at times. It's easier when they're little, even if they are all over the place." Goodness knows Kimie's children were active, on top of being social and loud. Madoc smacking blocks around in the corner was actually quiet for him. Mintaka Alnilam wriggled himself free fo the wrap anyway, making a burbling laughing sound in the process, fascinated with Maddie now. After all, she was... well, interesting! He'd never seen soemthing like Maddie before. o.o "I don't mind it, I've gotten used to it," she said, one fox ear flicking. "I get a lot worse form people because of my appearance." She laughed quietly. "But hey, it started with a bad polymorph spell, so what can I say? Don't play with magic?" the rattle on Alnilam's tail made a slight noise as he wriggled again, and Mintaka shifted her grip, sighing at him. "He's crafty, and learnign how to sue that lwoer half already, elast in the art of escape. I'm really not entirely sure how learning to walk will happen. And yes... One of my charges, Aurora... sweet child, but she's been a ltitle fussy. I think it's a mutual thing of youth. Epsecially once they start getting older. Preperation for those troublesome teen years." She followed that with a wink. Kimie Kitty Maddie chittered at Alnilam, suddenly aware of the rattle on the end of his tail. That was both fascinating and a little scary. "What is??" she asked again, tugging on Min's sleeve. "A polymorph spell, yes, I suppose that would do it." Kimie made a face at the thought of Evan going through puberty. "Erf. At least with how quickly children grow in Gaia, the teen years we went through are only a matter of months for our offspring." Across the room, Madoc had progressed from simply making noise with the blocks to stacking them up as high as he could and then jumping at the stack. Every few minutes ellicited a crash and a high-pitched voice yelling, "Boom!" Mintaka "Well, I don't even rememebr my childhood, for all I knew I grew up fast. I can't ask my parents - one's dead, the otehr wandered off on his own." She rolled her eyes then, and looked to Maddie, catching Alnilam before he tried rolling off. "This is my son, Alnilam," she explained, avoidng a wing smack to the right arm as he wiggled more. "He's part rattlesnake. Sort of like you're part lemur." Alnilam stopped then, and resumed staring, deciding to grip onto Mintaka's knee for support in this endevour. She had thsoe furry thigns sticking out her head like mommy, after all. o.o "Although if the squirt grew up fast without help, I wouldn't be surprised. My DNA's messed up enough as it is. Although I think Johnathan's and the added help may stablize the squirt so we don't have to worry about random shapechanging like I get." She raised an eyebrow at a 'boom' and smirked slightly. "That's normal I take it?" Kimie Kitty "I guess we both have wandering relatives. My sister Rhi, I haven't heard from her since she took off with Nanda and Rosie. I can tell she's still alive, but too far away.. or in too different a place, for me to reach her." Kimie frowned slightly. For all Rhiannon drove her nuts, she was family, and it was hard having her gone so long. Maddie nodded solemnly, risking a quick poke at Alnilam's tail. Was it like her tail? Where were his legs? She pulled her tail around into her lap and patted it. "Lemur," she said. "Maddie lemur, Madoc lemur-kitty. Mommy kitty, Ev haff-ling." The little girl squinched her face up. "Al..num snake," she finally managed. It was probably the most she'd ever said at one time. Kimie beamed. "That's right, Maddie, and Mintaka is... a friend." She grinned and cast a quick glance over at Madoc. "Oh yes, I don't even hear it half the time. As long as the shrieking isn't frantic, he's fine." Mintaka "Family is such a wonderful thing," she said blandly. "I swear if I find my dad I'm going to give him a kick for worrying me. First he's sick, then he goes and wanders OFF on me... while I'm pregnant. Lucky I didn't get issues from that." She was still good natured, but there was a bit of concern. Alnilam burble-giggled at the poke, moving the end of his tail some and making it rattle again. He reached out towards her somewhat, although careful not to fall at least. She nodded to Maddie, rather impressed. "Yes, snake." She made extra sure Aln couldn't roll and fall off, planting a firm pair of hands on him to be sure. "Yeah, you begin to get perceptive of exactly what every noise means even fi it's not intelligble. I have one in my care who can't communicate well, and only by broken thoughts, but I can read the emotions enough to know. I think it helped prepare me... cause I don't think otherwise no t having raised others... that I'd manage my own well." "Though, I don't thin he;ll need a rattle, having one of his own he seems to already like." Kimie Kitty "Delightful, isn't it," Kimie agreed drily. "Hm. I'd adopted Danica and Evan both before having Madoc, and then Maddie showed up..." Kimie shook her head. Maddie's arrival had been confusing enough, even with the sort of explanation Farland provided. It was much easier just to love the little girl without digging into her origins too much. "At least all of my kids vocalize. Not even two years ago, my house was always so quiet and now..." She grinned. A silent (and non-messy!) house was a thing of the past. Maddie reached out and patted the little snake-boy's hair. "Pretty snake. Maddie like. Tail like too." She nodded solemnly, patting her tail in her lap. For reasons completely beyond her mother, Maddie treated her tail like a baby doll, cradling it and even attributing some sort of personality to it. Bored with his game, Madoc trundled over to the group. "Hi!" he chirped, possibly louder than was quite necessary. http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15470447&page=95
