Poke'mon Cheats For Red, Blue, Green and, Yellow:
I've done them all. The game has been played. I know what works, and what doesn't. PokeGods? That's horse radish. They don't exist. Read on to see what actually works.
Random Game Coins in Celedon City----at the game center (where all the slot machines are) if you walk around and push the A button, you will find coins randomly, without using a machine or paying for them! I have been told that you need surf and fly to do this, and the coins are in set areas and there are only a certain amount of them.
Island craziness ----The two islands in the game (Sea Foam and Cinnabar) have some very strange and queer happenings going on there. There are at least 6 different cheats centering around them, from hidden pokemon to an item cheat. Some of these cheats can mess up the game a bit, but if you do what I say, you'll be fine...and have lots of cool things to boot.
****YOU WILL NEED SURF FOR ALL OF THESE!!!***
----You can catch just about any pokemon from grassy or cave areas by surfing up and down the coasts of the islands. To do this, hang around the grass or cave area where the pokemon you want hides. If the pokemon you want happens to be in the Safari Zone, waste all your time in the area of your choosing. Next, fly to Cinnabar or surf to Sea Foam. Along the coast, right between the land and the water, there is a dark, thin strip. Surf up and down that, and fight the pokemon of the place you last visited! This is very helpful in catching Safari Zone pokemon. No more safari balls!
----There is a hidden pokemon off the coast of Cinnabar called MissingNo. His number is 0, he does not appear in your pokedex, and he is on level 80. Although he has 2 water guns and Sky attack, his defense is only at 6. To catch him, trade with someone at Cinnabar (I tried this by trading a venonat for a tangela, so I know that works). Then go out and surf the coast, making sure you have a weak pokemon for his low defense. They will be allover the place! But be forewarned...putting him into your computer causes a glitch that can delete your game! If you simply must catch it, leave space in your party, and put it into the computer later. Just remember that it will foul up your records of which pokemon you beat the game with, and having it in your party will cause distortions in the battle screens..
----Well what do you know! A hidden pokemon at Sea Foam, also! This one is called 'M, and is just like MissingNo except for the fact that it is on level 0; there are a few on 80, however. To catch this one, go to Viridian City and have the old man show you how to catch a weedle. Fly to Fuscha City, then surf to the coast of Sea Foam. DO NOT GET OUT!! Surf up and down that dark strip of land to find them. It can cause the same glitch that MissingNo does, so be careful. You don't have to bother fighting it, just throw the ball. And make sure there's a space for it.
----If you catch the 'M, the battle screen will appear again and say that the 'M is still there. You can run away, kill it...or catch it. When I caught it, it turned out to be a level 0 ditto. I don't know if it freezes the game...it probably causes the MissingNo glitch as well. Best to make 2 spaces in your party if you plan on getting both of the pokemon, just in case.
----That lovely 'M! He has so many uses. Once you kill it or run away (which is what you should do), whichever item you have in the 6th spot in your item list will shoot way up! I don't know exactly how many, though, but I think it's about 119 of the item! All I know is, it's very helpful to have many rare candies...and master balls, especially if you are surfing for rare Safari Zone pokemon.
----Yet another use for 'M! Are you having trouble catching a Kangaskahn? Never fear! If that level 0 'M gains even 1 experience point, it will evolve into a Kangaskahn; the cool thing is, your Kangaskahn will know Sky Attack! I didn't try to get levels to see if it learns regular kangaskahn attacks...I assume it does.
----Only one more to go! Follow the directions for catching 'M. As you are surfing the coasts of either of the 2 islands, you will come across pokemon that are over level 100! I know in the blue version at Sea Foam, the pokemon you will find is a level 164 geodude, and in the red at Sea Foam, it's a level 174 magnemite. They will revert down to 100 if they gain even 1 experience point, but you can still use them in trainer battles. Won't your opponent be surprised! There have also been reports of mew, charmander, and squirtle sightings, but these aren't guaranteed. Remember that you will usually find the same pokemon over 100 every time.
I do not trust what other people tell me about codes. I will only put up what has worked for me, or what people have shown me on their own games. As far as I (as well as Nintendo) is concerned, the PokeGods and especially Mew do not exist in the American version or Pokemon. The only ways to get Mew are to use the game genie (or game shark) or to go to one of the Pokemon shows where they give you mews. Please do not e-mail me with Mew codes.
