Okay, well I just started swimming last year and I was on the school swim team and I really liked it. Around the middle of the season last year the heater in the pool broke which sucked because it was, like, January when it broke and the pool was FREEZING and it was almost the end of the season before the lazy mechanic fixed it. Now, this year the pool is "broken" I don't know what's wrong with it but it's unusable, to add more fuel to the fire our coach got pregnant and she's on maternity leave until next semester. I asked the Athletic Director at school and all I've heard was "We're working on it" and that was in the beginning of October. It's so frustrating because it seems like the school is doing nothing about the swim team and all the other winter sports have already started practice. I've trained all summer for the swim team and it's all useless.

Stage a 'swim out' where all your swim team people ditch class and break into the so called "broken" pool and swim til ya drop. Just be sure to either make lots of noise, or invite school newspaper kids along.

I mean, sure..there's a possibility someone might get hypothermia...but an outraged parent is the among the things faculty do not want to deal with.

Actually; I dont know how good an idea a 'swim out' would be. But. Asking politely doesnt seem to be working. Take some action and make some noise mayhaps?

Rivei's right, sort of. Making a scene might help... but you want to remember not to be too extreme. Like Rivei suggested, someone could get hurt swimming in a freezing pool, so maybe her swim-out idea is a little too reckless.

Her idea about the school newspaper, though? That might be a good place to start. If you're not getting any cooperation or answers from the teachers, you could at least ask the newspaper if they'd be interested in the story. You know, that way you could at least make it semi-public knowledge. Once parents are informed (which I'm sure a lot of them read the newspaper, or at least the parents of the kids that write the paper), there may be some type of action taken. Maybe some funding, or a PTA meeting... y'know, something.

It might be hard to hold a swim off in a pool with no water, but the newspaper thing is a good idea. I think I'll ask the teacher about that one.

Fill the pool with jello. See if anyone notices.

My hearts in the right place. My brain...not so much.

edit: On a serious note; Ask your teachers whats broken about the pool. See how much it would be to fix it and hold a fund raiser.
